My face turned sour upon seeing the boy. He has a mischievous grin plastered on his lips. His eyes were like smoke. It was gray in color.

I recognized him immediately. Siya iyong tinatawag nilang batang Sherlock Holmes ng school namin. The boy who boasts about him being the smartest kid in school. I heard he even outsmart some of the teachers. I just forgot his name. I think it isn't worthy anyway.

He must've been expecting that I'd surrender kaya he was a bit shocked when I flashed a sheepish grin. "Hindi ka pulis. You can't arrest me. Isa pa..."

Hinawi ko ang water gun na hawak niya. "I'm not scared of your gun. Hindi ko ikamamatay ang tubig unless lulunurin mo ako."

Binaba niya ang kanyang laruang baril saka naglabas ng isang mamahaling cellphone. "Then I have no other choice but to call the authorities."

Tumaas ang kilay ko. "Then?"

"Isusumbong kita."

"Tapos?"

Nagkibit siya ng balikat. He tapped on his phone. Seryoso siya? Wow.

I could hear footsteps coming from outside. Mukhang pabalik na ang mga teachers namin!

"Looks like I don't have to call anyone to arrest you," anito sabay ngisi.

I glared at him. "Epal ka."

If hindi siya nangialam eh di sana kanina pa ako nakaalis kasama itong gintong music box!

Nang marinig ang pagbukas ng pinto ay agad kong kinuha ang water gun mula sa batang lalaki tapos ay tinutok ko sa aking sarili.

"Hey!" pagalit niyang sabi. "Magpapakamatay ka ba?"

Ang stupid nito. How can a water gun kill me?

Inirapan ko siya, then I pulled the trigger. I was soaking in water immediately.

Mabilis kong binalik ang music box sa table ni teacher Aya saka pinahawak ang water gun sa bata bago pa kami makita ng mga teacher.

Nagtatakang nakatingin sa akin ang lalaki. Ngumisi ako sa kanya bago tumakbo papunta sa mga teachers na pumasok.

"Teacher!" I cried. "May magnanakaw po na bata roon! Nahuli ko po siya tapos nagalit siya sa akin kaya binaril niya ako ng water gun!"

I fought the urge to smile. Ngumawa ako sa harap nila.

"No!" malakas na apila ng batang lalaki. "I didn't do it! She did it herself! You can check for fingerprints if you want!"

Our music teacher stared at me for a while. Ang mga luha sa mga mata ko'y patuloy na umaagos. Napabuntonghininga si teacher Aya saka inilipat ang tingin sa batang lalaki. She called his name in a serious tone.

That's when I knew I won. No one can resist a girl's tears.

"Hands up, Aphrodite," Axis whispered huskily behind me.

Napapikit ako. I knew this might happen.

"Oh, hello there," I mocked and tried to look back at him, but he only pushed his gun harder on my head.

"Hands up," he repeated. But I didn't do what he told me.

The necklace is fake. I could just give it to him and find another target. That's the safest choice.

But do I do safe? No...

The mystery as to why the necklace is a counterfeit electrifies me. I love mystery. It makes everything more interesting.
