So I think what this means is that... well, look at it like this, take a child for example, like 3 or 4 years old. All they care about is whether or not Dora is gonna survive the troll bridge. They aren't evil or good, but fast forward a few years and the child evil. How is that? Well, the child kept on being influenced with bad things like say, their dad died and their mom went into depression, but go back to the beginning, say they grew up with both parents, had plenty of friends, and had a pet or something like that. See? That's kinda what this quote means
