A seventh year student finds himself ( I envisioned a male OC) or herself trapped in Hogwarts just before the start of the second wizarding war. In attempts to escape the Carrows and their tortuous teaching methods, the student seems refuge by hiding away and comes across several paintings that have been removed from the walls. There he confides in one painting of a young witch, who offers words of comfort to help him through the dark times.
The war is upon them and despite all the efforts, the young boy dies bravely. However, at a request, the boy is painted to be reunited with the young witch that he fell in love with.
The painting is returned to the wall with the happy couple once the war is over.

I absolutely adore this plot, mainly because I love OC x OC pairings. Bittersweet love story.
