10 : Sloth Boy

"My love. Let's go out." I said with my arms wrapped around my boyfriend.

"Like where?" He asked changing the channel on the tv.

"Anywhere. I just want to get out of the house." I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed his cheek.

"How about IHOP?" I nodded excitedly and skipped over to the door.

"Hurry up!" He smiled and shook his head and quit his game. He grabbed his keys and we went out to the car and drove to our favorite restaurant.

He pulled up to a nearby IHOP and parked the car. "Did you really?" I turned in my seat and looked at him.

"You still love this Place Right?" He smiled slightly.

"Of course." I stepped out of the car and helped Callie out. I picked her up and held her on my hip. I closed the doors and waited for Nordan to make his way over to us.

"I took a chance and guessed as to where you would like breakfast." He smiled at me and the three of us walked inside.

It wasn't long before the waitress seated us. Callie sat next to her dad and I sat by myself. I took off my purse and placed it next to me. She sat on his lap and looked at his menu.

"Baby they gave you a menu too." I laughed.

"I know that momma. I just want to look at this one." She pointed to the one Nordan was holding and smiled brightly.

"Okay, pick what you want to eat then." I looked over my menu and chose what I wanted for breakfast.

Nordan opened the front door and let us both in first. I put Callie on the ground and she ran to find Lucas I'm guessing. Nordan shut the door and we both wandered into the kitchen where we found Lucas, Callie and Alex sitting.

"How was breakfast?" Alex asked us as we walked in.

"Pretty good." I nodded in agreement with Nordan. We didn't do much except talk about how life has been for my family since Callie and his life since I left.

"Mommy I want a puppy." Callie said staring at a fish on the table.

"When you're older we can get a puppy."

"How much older?"

"Seven maybe." She nodded and poked at the fish bowl.

"Nordan? Can we get a puppy?" Lucas asked with a smile.

"We already have you. That's as good as a puppy." Callie gasped loudly and hugged Lucas.

"Don't be mean to the sloth boy daddy!"

"Yeah." I smacked his arm holding in my laugh.

"What!"

"You heard her." Lucas stuck his tongue out at him. I giggled and pulled my phone out of my pocket.

2 missed calls from mother

I dialed my sisters number and waited for her to answer. "Aye chick. How's last minute planning going?"

"I hate it. Who wanted to get married in the first place." I could hear her red rolling from here.

"You did."

"Shush. Are you taking the guys to the wedding?"

I hadn't asked yet, "let me ask," I turned my phone to my shoulder, "hey do you guys wanna go to a wedding?"

"Who's wedding?" Nordan asked with his eyebrows raised.

"My sisters."

"Yes. We would love to." The guy who I met this morning, Yousef? replied walking in the room.

"How many?"

"7." Nordan answered.

"Seven." I replied to my sister.

"Gotcha. Hey come home and help me out here please?"

"I'm on my way." I hung up the phone and went to take Callie. "I gotta go back and help Angie with her wedding plans. Come on Cal."

"Can she stay here?" Lucas asked with puppy dog eyes.

"Mommy. I wanna stay with sloth boy." She gave me the same look as he did. I'm being double teamed.

"This isn't fair!"

"What's not fair?" Alex asked looking up from his phone.

"They're double teaming me!"

"What?" Nordan turned around and spoke with his mouth full. Boy we just came back from breakfast.

"Okay one, you're still fat. Two, their little adorable faces! They can't just play me like that! She knows I can't say no!" I crossed my arms over my chest.

"It's fine. We can take care of her." Nordan put an arm around me.

"Yeah I mean. How hard can it be?" I laughed already imagining the chaos that could be.

"Are you sure?" Lucas and Callie nodded quickly making me smile. "Well okay then." I kissed Callie's forehead and started walking to the front door. Nordan behind me.

"You wouldn't mind if I came along?" He Stück his hands in his pockets and looked down at the ground shyly.

I giggled, "Nordan, why are you so shy all of a sudden? Plus you should be with your daughter for a while. I'm sure she'd love to spend time with her father and sloth boy." I put my hand on his cheek and slightly slapped it. "You'll do great." I smiled up at him.

He placed his hand on mine and stared at me. I recognized the same look from back when we were dating. We stayed there for a couple of seconds before he slowly started leaning in. Is he gonna kiss me?

He was about less than an inch from my face when I pulled away and turned my face. "I'm sorry." I whispered. I opened the door and left a sad Nordan standing at the door.
