AN: Sorry it's been so long! School just started this past week and I've had volleyball practice, or a volleyball game everyday this week on top of schoolwork and stuff! Anyway, here's the chapter finally!
It was the last day before Christmas break. It was December 23rd. I decided not to see Owen, what if he's busy? Presents were a thing I'd given much thought to, after school I went shopping. I hadn't had a chance to go before today.
Christian is hosting a Christmas party tonight. According to the invitations, there will be a white elephant gift exchange, a Christmas movie marathon, games, and there will be a hot tub. I didn't want to go at first, but I convinced Derek to be my plus one and now we are at his house getting ready. Derek's boyfriend, Dylan Holly is picking us up in thirty minutes.
"What swim trunks should I bring?" Derek asked, holding up two pairs of trunks. One pair was black with white stripes and the other was blue on one leg and green in the other.
Pointing to the black one I said, "That one. It suits you better."
He nodded, saying, "I agree."
"I brought this one piece, do you like it?" I asked, holding up my swimsuit that was a wine red one piece with small cutouts on the sides.
Derek smiled, "I love it, plus it's red so bonus Christmas points!"
"Do you think your younger sister can braid my hair for me?" I asked putting the swimsuit back in my bag.
"Sure, one sec." Derek walked over to his bedroom door and shouted, "Sarah?"
A faint voice called back, "Yes?"
"Can you come in here?" Derek shouted.
Soon enough Sarah was standing in Derek's room. "What's up?" She asked.
"Can you maybe braid my hair?" I asked sweetly.
Sarah's face lit up. "Of course! Anything for my brothers best friend!"
---
Ding dong! Derek and I both ran for the door, racing to open it. I got there first and yanked open the door to see Dylan Holly wearing a Christmas sweater, blue jeans, and a Santa hat.
"Hi! You must be Dylan, I'm Cora, Derek's best friend. Come in, your boyfriend's standing right behind me," I said.
Dylan chuckled and stepped inside the warm house with a smile. "Hello Cora, it's good to meet you," he said, ignoring Derek who was trying to get past me.
"It's nice to me- Ow! Derek, what the hell?" Derek was pinching me, which hurt very much. "Derek stop!"
"Let me see my goddamn boyfriend!" Derek exclaimed, punching me into the wall. Rude.
The black and blue haired boy ran past me and jumped into Dylan's arms. "Jeez Dere, you saw me today at school!" Dylan said chuckling.
"I don't care," Derek said before lightly kissing Dylan's lips.
"Ahem!" I 'coughed'. "You can make out later, it's time to go to the party."
Dylan set down Derek and led us to his car, where I called shotgun and hoped in the passenger seat. At this my best friend said, "Not fair! He's my boyfriend, I should sit in the front!"
"She got there first, sorry babe," Dylan said getting in the car.
Derek huffed playfully and got in the backseat.
---
By the time we got to the party, it was in full swing. People were dancing to what sounded like pop music, cups were littered all over the floor, the hot tub was occupied by making out couples, and Chris was gathering up some people to go in the basement for the white elephant gift exchange.
"Hey guys! You want to come downstairs for the gift exchange?" Christian shouted over the music.
Dylan, Derek, and I all nodded and followed the host into the cozy basement. In the basement a Christmas tree was set up in the corner, soft christmas music was playing, and gifts were all set up on a big table.
Around fifteen people were sitting on the huge couch, or on the ground by it. Julia was handing out pieces of paper to each person, and when she got to us she said, "Hey guys, You all know how to do the gift exchange right?"
"Yes," I said.
"Great, here are your numbers." Julia hands us each a piece of paper, my number was fourteen. I would pick second to last.
---
After the gift exchange, I went over to Julia to catch up with her, after all we haven't talked in awhile. "Hey Jules, can I sit here?" I asked, pointing to the seat next to her.
Julia smiled and said, "Sure, what's up?"
Before I could answer Chris came back into the basement and yelled, "Let's play truth or dare!"
Turning back to Julia I said, "Looks like we'll have to talk later."
Both of us got up and sat down next to each other on the floor, joining the circle of people playing truth or dare.
"Cora, truth or dare?" Chris' best friend, Ethan asked, looking straight at me.
I weighed each decision before saying, "Dare."
An evil grin spread across Ethan's face before he said, "I dare you to make out with any of the guys here."
Just then someone said, "Who's making out with who now?"
I turned around and saw Owen standing at the bottom of the stairs with a confused look on his face.
How the fuck did he get here?
How did Owen get here? Read chapter 28 when it comes out in 5-7 days to find out!
Feedback is appreciated!
Love you all!
