"Daichi! Oi Daichi!"
"Dai-chan! Oh my God please wake up."
"We need to take him to the infirmary, quickly."
"Guys! Guys! I think he's waking up!"
"Wait WHAT?!"
Daichi opened his eyes, only to be greeted by the faces of his friends. Everything was too blurry and he couldn't think straight at all.
"Daichi!" He heard Suga exclaimed, "Are you okay?"
Daichi tried his best to nod, but he obviously did not look okay. He could tell by the way Kuroo responded.
"Of course he's not okay," Kuroo replied.
"Daichi, can you try to sit up please?" Suga asked as people moved a tad bit further away to give Daichi space.
Daichi slowly sat up, knowing that if he sat up quickly, his headache would get worse. He felt two hands on his back, helping him sit up. Immediately he felt a fluid oozing out of his nose, he touched it and saw that his fingertips were now red.
Oikawa squealed, "Someone get him a towel or something!"
Kuroo quickly went to get Daichi's towel, pouring water onto it before giving it to Suga. Suga puts the towel on Daichi's nose, to try and stop the bleeding.
"I'll bring him to the infirmary so you guys can continue the game," Suga said, looking at the others, Daichi now holding the towel.
"I'll go with you Suga-chan," Oikawa replied, standing up.
"I don't think that would be necessary," Ushijima said.
"Yeah it only takes one person to help Daichi, to keep him from falling," Bokuto responded.
Suga stood up and patted his shoulder, "Just continue the game, I'll be fine."
Oikawa looked at Suga again, "Are you sure?"
Suga nodded, "Now go, I'll take care of Daichi over here, you need to find a substitute."
Oikawa nodded and the others looked at Daichi, who is still not able to register anything around him, "We'll visit him once the game is over," Kuroo said before they turned their sttention back to the game.
Suga nodded and knelt beside Daichi, "Come on, let's take you to the infirmary," Suga grabbed Daichi's arm, wrapping it around Suga's shoulders and helped Daichi stand up. Holding onto, Daichi's hand to keep his arm around him, Suga started walking with Daichi. Daichi's steps were still unsteady, but thanks to Suga, Daichi did not fall. Whenever Daichi felt himself passing out again, Suga would keep him awake. They finally arrived at the infirmary where Suga was the one who talked to the nurse about what happened. After that, Daichi did not remember what happened because he passed out again.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Daichi was no longer staring at the ceiling of the court when he woke up, in fact he didn't know where he was. He felt a lot better, however, his sight was no longer blurry and he could register his surroundings clearly again.
"Daichi you're awake!"
Daichi sat up to see Suga, sitting by his bedside with a book on his lap. He wore a gentle smile, "You scared us all, that could've led to a serious concussion, according to the nurse."
"W-what happened?" Daichi asked as he looked around and saw a bloody towel next to him on his table.
"You received the ball with your face, but that was a powerful spike, powerful enough to make you pass out. Twice. Also, you had nose-bleeding," Suga explained.
Suddenly Daichi remembered, "The game! I have to g-"
Suga cuts him off, "Nope! You are not going anywhere until you're well-rested. Besides, nurse's orders."
"But-"
Suga shook his head, "No but's either. They found a substitute for you already. They told me to tell you to stay here until the game is over."
"I'm fin-" Daichi coughed out blood onto his hand and a tooth appeared on HIS HAND, not this again, Daichi thought.
"Sure, you're perfectly fine," Suga replied, sarcastically and sighed as he gave Daichi a box of tissue.
Daichi thanked him and wiped his mouth and hands before throwing it into the trash can along with his tooth.
"Daichi, you really need to be careful out there. I saw what happened, you landed on the wrong foot," Suga said, "Injuries like that could sometimes become more severe, we just got lucky this time."
"I'm sorry for scarying you, making you worried, and causing you all of this trouble," Daichi frowned, feeling bad for Suga.
"It's okay, there's no need for an apology," Suga smiled softly at him, "Just be careful next time."
Daichi nodded, "Okay I'll try."
Suga nodded, "Good. Anyways, do you want me to leave? So you can rest?"
Daichi shook his head, "No no it's okay, you can stay if you want to, unless you want to go watch the game."
"The game is almost over so I guess I'll just stay here then," Suga replied, relaxing a bit on his chair.
"How are the others doing?" Daichi asked.
"They were worried when you passed out and quickly ran to you. They stopped the whole game. Now, they're doing pretty good actually, they're on match point; Oikawa sent me a message," Suga took out his phone and read the message, "'Yoohoo Suga-chan, how's Dai-chan doing? We're on match point now thank God so we'll visit you two soon. Got to go and win this set bye!' There's even an alien emoji here."
Daichi chuckled, "Typical Oikawa," he muttered, resting his back against the pillow.
Suga laughed lightly, "I know right. Anyways, I didn't get to ask, how are you feeling now?"
"A lot better than before now," admitted Daichi, "Thanks for bringing me to the infirmary by the way."
"No problem," Suga replied, "If you went to the infirmary alone, I would find you on the floor again. You literally could not walk, at all."
"Really? How bad was it?" Daichi asked.
"Kind of bad," Suga replied, "Not THAT bad, you could stand on your own two feet by you still needed me there to guide you and such."
"Ah I see," Daichi replied.
"Hey, want to play a game until the other arrive?" Suga asked, getting out a piece of paper and a pencil.
Daichi nodded, "Sure."
Both of them played the word game, which is basically coming up with words that start with the last letter of the previous word (for example, apple, elephant, tea), until the former captains arrived, Bokuto, Kuroo and Oikawa tackling him with a hug. They won the game and all of them celebrated by going out to eat somewhere once Daichi felt better.
"So I guess you could say Daichi became DEADCHI for a few moments there," Bokuto said and laughed. Kuroo, Terushima, and Oikawa laughed uncontrollably while Daichi could've sowrn he saw Ushijima smiled. Suga laughed too, but Daichi didn't mind since he liked the sound of Suga's laughter, he couldn't help but laugh too.
