I slipped on my shoes and made my way into the living room. My roommate was watching the tv, singing along to The Little Mermaid. I laughed at her, "Really?"

She didn't look away from the screen, "This is a cinematic treasure." I rolled my eyes, not that she saw, and started pacing by the apartment door. I pulled at my hair and twirled my necklace between my fingers, anything to calm myself down. Kelley paused the movie and turned around to watch me, "Calm down."

I continued my pacing, "Don't tell me what to do."

She laughed and turned back to her movie, "Why are you freaking out so much anyway? You said that you guys had really great chemistry."

I stopped moving and looked at her, "Yeah, for those five minutes when we first met, but this is an entire night. What if I act awkward or weird?"

Kelley snorted, "You are awkward and weird." I grabbed one of the pillows from the couch and smacked the back of her head. She laughed, but wasn't able to say anything as the doorbell rang. I rushed to the buzzer.

Clicking the button, I took a deep breath, "Hello?"

A fuzzy voice sounded through the speaker, "Hey, it's Cole."

I clicked the button again, "I'll be right down." I waved to Kelley and rushed out of the apartment and down the stairs. I was too jittery to take the elevator. As soon as I made it to the street, Cole was standing there, holding a single yellow daisy. He held it out to me and I took it with heated cheeks, "Thank you."

He smiled and held his hand out, "Ready to go?" I nodded and took his hand, letting him lead me down the street.

We walked in silence for a minute before I turned to him, "So where are we going?"

He smiled and stared straight ahead, "It's a surprise." I huffed, but he only laughed. We continued on before taking a quick turn into a nearby park. Cole led me over to a blanket and picnic basket setup under a large oak tree. I sat down on the blanket and watched as Cole took everything out of the basket and laid it out on the blanket. I took the glass of wine that he held out to me and clinked it against his own. We sat together under the tree, eating the delicious food that Cole had brought and drinking our wine.

After we had finished eating, Cole pulled the guitar that had been leaning against the base of the tree into his lap. I giggled as he strummed the strings for a minute. "Please excuse my less than stellar guitar playing. I don't play often." Cole continued strumming before his voice joined the quiet music. I closed my eyes and listened to Cole's singing with a content smile on my face. As the song finished, I opened my eyes.

"Now I see why you wouldn't sing karaoke the other night."

Cole smiled, "Oh yeah? And whys that?"

I smirked, "You'd be terrible at it."

Cole laughed, "Would I?"

I nodded, still smirking, "Yeah. Your voice is too professional singer." Cole laughed again, causing me to let out a chuckle, "It's not a good karaoke voice."

Cole set the guitar down, "Oh. So I guess I should leave the karaoke to you?"

I nodded, "That'd probably be best." Cole laughed before pulling me down to lay next to him on the blanket where we stayed all night, staring at the stars.
