Chapter 22: Torture ➰

HARRYS POV

I walk into the room only to find Harmony gone and a note left on the bed, next to her food tray.

A note? Why would she leave a note?

I pick it up and flip it open, beggining to read

Dear Harry,

I'm sorry, I just can't do this. I could never be with a vampire.

I'm sorry. I will miss you

"No" I say, sinking to my knees, "No!"

"Harry, what's wrong?" Kate, Trinity, Piper, Tiffany and Serenity all ask at the same time.

I hold the note in their direction and one of them grabs it, reading it aloud. The words hurt me like a knife cutting into my stomach as they do

"No! Why would she just leave us?!" Piper sobs quietly

"Not even a goodbye" Trinity whispers sadly

"Well at least she left a goodbye for Harry" Kate states and I whimper in pain

"Kate!" Tiffany hushes

"Sorry!" she whispers

"No" I begin, "No this can't be true, she was completely fine this morning, she told me she loved me and last night we..."

"Last night you what?" Serenity asks, raising her eyebrow

"Nothing" I reply quickly. Too quickly, "Kate, can you get Niall to come up here, try get a vision or something, see where she went?"

"He can't get visions on command Harry, you know that" she says

"Of course I fucking know that but we can at least try!"

"Ok. I'll go get him" she replies hastily, leaving the room, as does the others. Except for me and Serenity.

I chuck on a shirt and a leather jacket, grabbing my keys and putting my boots on.

"Where are you going?" Serenity quizzes

"To find Harmony. I'm gonna check all the possible places"

"I'm coming with you" she demands

"No. You can't. You're pregnant and Harmony would kill me"

"Come On! I'm only like 3 and half months pregn-"

"No! End of discussion!"

"Ok, ok. Just...bring her back" she pleads

I nod and walk out the front door, jumping in the car, heading to Harmony's fathers house.

HARMONY'S POV

I open my eyes to reveal a dark room that smells like vinegar, moss and...blood.

"Ugh" I groan, "Why do I feel so weak?"

"Ah, that would be because I've been draining you of your blood" Garrett speaks up from the corner

I gasp, not realising he was there. He steps forward and if I could scream, I would. His eyes are a blazing red and he's got blood dripping down his leg

"But...why?" I croak

"You really don't know do you?"

"Know what?"

"That every vampire, everywhere, wants your blood. It makes them stronger, increases their power and well...it tastes delicious"

"Then...why have you got me...here....why not take me to...others" I say in between breaths, I really am getting weaker

"Because I want you all to myself" he says, starting to patch up the neck wound he has clearly created, so that he can stop me from draining too needlessly and quickly "And because I need a human toy to torture"

"Torturing me?" I squeak, "Why?"

"Oh, being stuck in this dreary place gets me bored and why not have fun with a human toy right here in my basement?"

"No...please" I plead but he isn't having any of it as he wheels a tray towards me and grabs a hot poker from a fire place I didn't realise was in the corner.

The first few centimetres of the hot metal poker a bright, glowing orange.

"Now, where to put this?" he considers, "Stomach? Chest? Leg?"

"Please...no" I whimper

"I think I'll go with the leg, that way you won't die, not too quickly anyway"

"No!" I yell weakly but it's too late.

Garrett shoves the hot poker straight through my leg as I let out a ferocious scream of agony

"This should be fun" Garrett laughs

HARRYS POV

I have been searching 5 hours for Harmony, but to no avail

Da da da da da da dadada

My phone starts ringing and I check the caller ID. It's Niall

"Harry!" he says as soon as I answer the call

"What?" I snap, "I'm looking for someone, you know!"

"That's why I'm calling I've had a vision. And you'd better get here quickly" he says and hangs up

I throw my phone on the passenger seat. Harmony's seat as tears well up in my eyes.

Niall's voice held a tone that was sad and pitying. This can't be good. Oh please, please let her be alright!

I arrive home and sprint inside

"NIALL!" I call out

"In here!" he shouts, he's in my room

I race up there at lightning speed and almost run into Kate in the process

"What!? What's happened?" I demand to know

"It's Harmony...we know where she is...in theory" Niall begins

"In theory? What do you mean 'in theory'"

"We know she's been taken. By Garrett. I saw a conversation between the two, he wants Harmony for her blood, the strong qualities of it and such. She's really weak. My vision ended when..." he trails off, unsure if he should tell me the last part

"When what, Niall?" I ask, fighting to keep my cool

Niall hesitates

"When...what!?" I shout

"When he shoved a hot metal poker into her leg"

A hot metal poker?

"Garret. Is. Dead" I say through gritted teeth

"How are we gonna find her?" Kate asks

"I don't know" I admit

"Why don't we trace her scent? Follow it through a route and we'll find her?" Niall quizzes

"Fuck!" I yell, "Why didn't I think of that before! I could've found her by now"

I run over to her dresser drawer and grab a sweater of her, inhaling the beautiful scent that lingers on it from her wearing this.

"I've got the scent trail" I announce, "Let's go"
