Jumelle heard loud crying as she pushed as hard as she possibly could. She almost sighed in relief. There was blood everywhere from where Carlisle's experience had clearly gotten the best of her. Jumelle grunted, wanting to see and hold her child. She could sense already that she felt different; there was no weight in her stomach. That was the most relieving thing about the birth.

"It's a girl," Carlisle announced. Jumelle sighed, forgetting about the bloodshed for a moment.

A girl. She'd just birthed a healthy baby girl into the world.

"A-Aspen," Jumelle stuttered out. "Aspen."

"Aspen? Who's Aspen?" Emmett asked dumbly.

Alec swallowed thickly. "You wanna name her Aspen?"

Jumelle nodded with a weak smile. "Of ... course."

Alec nodded. "Aspen it is, then. Baby Aspen."

"Um ..." Jumelle grunted. "I-I don't want to sound selfish or a-anything ... but I w-would really like to hold m-my baby." She hissed as pain erupted in her stomach. "What the hell?"

Alec gasped while Carlisle quickly checked it out. He frowned.

"You're bleeding a lot."

Alec grasped Jumelle's hand quickly, handing the baby to Alice.

"This can't be good," Emmett muttered.

Jumelle panted, trying to regulate her breathing. It was heavy and staggered. She cried. She screamed.

The last thing Jumelle Cullen heard were the cries of her child before she fell into a pit of darkness.
