Delta's POV:
I was hanging out in the lab with Adam, Bree, Chase, Davenport and Leo. Zadie hadn't shown up yet, but since it was a Saturday, I figured she was still asleep.
"Okay guys, the next phase of training is handling extreme weather climates. So we'll frost Chase, bake Bree, and submerged Adam." Davenport excitedly said, "That's not part of the training; I just got one of those carnival dunk tanks and I can't wait to try it out."
Chase got into his capsule as Davenport told him, "Okay Chase, I'm setting your tube to Antarctic; If it gets too much, just give me a sign."
"Bring it!" Chase said.
"Hey that's not fair; I want to be abused by weather!" Leo exclaimed.
Bree scoffed, "Leo, if you really want to be abused, try standing over here next to Adam's morning breath."
"I don't have morning breath." He told them bluntly, "It smells like that all day."
"Leo, these guys are genetically engineered to handle these kinds of climates; you're not." Davenport told Leo.
"I can handle extreme cold." Leo fought.
I raised an eyebrow, "Dude, you get brain freeze when you chew mint gum."
Adam and Bree stifled laughs at Leo's expense.
Davenport's phone rang, and he answered with a simple, "Davenport. What?! Well, that's terrible!" His eyes went wide as he smirked, "I mean, that's awesome...but that's terrible. I gotta do something." He ended the call and turned to us, noticing our reactions.
Adam quickly asked, "What's going on? What's so terrible?"
"Well, I created the world's fastest train, but now it's speeding out of control full of highly explosive nuclonium headed towards downtown Welkerville."
"Because combining the fastest train in the world and explosive chemicals was a grand idea." I sarcastically commented, crossing my arms.
Bree scoffed, "Well, then what's so awesome?"
Davenport's face brightened a bit. "It's going like 400 miles an hour!" He chuckled nervously. "My entire career is riding—or maybe crashing—on this train, and I don't understand it; my design was flawless."
She asked sarcastically, "So flawless you forgot to install an emergency brake?"
"No, I never counted on the conductor dropping his papaya smoothie all over the control panel then jumping off the train."
"Well, if I were to build a high-speed train, the first thing I would put in was a cup holder." Adam shrugged, grinning widely. "Ooh, and one of those number stickers on the back that says, I brake for cows."
"You know, when stuff like this happens, they always blame the scientist. This is human error; scientists don't make mistakes," Davenport said, his frustration growing.
Just then, we heard a knocking sound. We turned around to see Chase frozen inside his capsule
Davenport sighed, "Great, Chase; now I have to explain the whole train story over again."
As Chase warmed up in a blanket, Zadie walked in, greeting loudly, "Good morning losers."
"Good morning?" I questioned, looking to my watch, "It's 1 pm."
She grinned, "for a Saturday, for me, I'm impressed." She glanced to Chase, who was still dripping with ice. "What happened to Elsa over there?"
"We froze him in his capsule... on purpose." Adam replied, still laughing over the incident.
