I've been wanting to write this for a while. Oh my god it is my favorite anime right now!!!!! A lot of people are probably wondering "what the heck is this anime?" Well. I'm gonna tell ya!
Saint Seiya Omega is a spinoff or sequel to the original series Saint Seiya. This show is basically about the goddess Athena who has these warriors called Saints, whose main purpose is to protect and serve Athena. Each Saint is named after each constellation found in the sky and wear this special armor called Cloths (even though the armor is made of metal). There are 3 different groups of Saints: Bronze, Silver, and Gold Saints. The Bronzes have the most amount of Saints (forgot the number) and are considered "the least powerful", but the main characters in both Saint Seiya and Saint Seiya Omega are Bronzes and they surely prove this theory wrong! The Silver Saints are smaller in size and are stronger than Bronzes but weaker than Golds. The Gold Saints are the most powerful Saints and have exactly 12 of them. That's because the Gold Saints each represent the 12 Zodiac signs.
Saint Seiya Omega revolves around this kid named Koga. He has been raised his entire life on an island by a woman names Saori Kido. What he doesn't know is that she is really the goddess Athena. Koga has been training to become a Saint, even though he doesn't want to be one. One day, Saori gets abducted by this mysterious man named Mars, who is really the god of war. Koga's will to save Miss Saori helps him become the Pegasus Saint. Although unable to save her, he is sent to Palestra, a place where Saints train and maintain their skills. Other main characters include Soma, the cocky Lionet Saint, Yuna, the symbolic girl Aquila Saint, Ryuho, the "weakhearted"* Dragon Saint (*I'll explain that later), Haruto, the stealthy ninja Wolf Saint, and Eden, the serious Orion Saint.
So far, there are only two seasons and I think there will only be two (maybe I'm wrong!). Both seasons have a different enemy that I'm not going to go through.
Anyways, I need to tell you all my 3 favorite SSO characters!
1. Orion Eden: Yes, I know. I swear, I have a thing for attractive serious guys. But that's not the main reason why Eden's my favorite. Out of the main characters in this series, his is the most interesting. It starts off with him being all distant from the main characters only because he doesn't like them and turns out, Mars, the guy I mentioned above, is is father!!!! I was very surprised when I found that out. Anyways, this girl named Aria, who was to be the new Athena when Mars takes over the world, was taken by Koga and the others in order to protect her. Eden was not happy with that ( mainly because he had a crush on her). He manages to get her back, she's all upset, and later on, she gets killed by his own father. Why must all the innocent girls get killed? (For more dramatic effect). Eden is SO depressed, his dark turquoise hair turns an off white (it's a Japanese myth that when ones depressed, their hair turns white). Anyways, he turns against his father... bla bla bla.blah is father realizes all his wrongdoings and tries to save earth...bla bla bla... gets killed trying to do so.... and yea. That was only Season 1. Season 2, Eden's a full-fledged good guy now and plays a semi big role in this season. Ohmygosh, that was a lot of typing. Overall, he's my 4th favorite (I might bump him up to 3rd though).
2. Wolf Haruto: When you first look at this guy, you would assume he's like 16 or 17, but in the 1st season, he's 13 and in the second season, he's 14. Oh my gawd, he's flawless! He is pretty tall and lean for his age, which caused me into thinking he was older, and he has long brown hair tied in a loose ponytail and wears a casual- looking suit and glasses. Just. Gorgeous. Anyways, enough of about what he looks like, the main thing about him is that he was part of a ninja clan, but chose to become a Saint, due to his best friend, who he called "brother" was a Saint, but sadly was killed right in front of young Haruto's eyes. I origionally had Haruto at 3rd, but now that I think about it, he deserves to be 2nd.
3. Dragon Ryuho: Yeah, I don't have a lot to say about him like I did with Eden, but Ryuho's a pretty cool guy.In the first season, he is 12 and in the second season he's 13. Ryuho was born with a weak heart, which caused him to get fatigue easily, BUT, he did not let that stop him from becoming a Saint! For those who have seen the original Saint Seiya, Shiryu is this guys daddy! But the thing is, Ryuho's adopted. At first I was like WHUT?, but then I found out he's adopted and I was like oh. He was trained by his father and was then sent to Palestra for further training. He became a pretty powerful Saint because of this! Anyways, so yea, um... I'm lost with words right now. I've got nothing ekse to say cuz that's how amazing Ryuho is.
Highly recommend watching this anime! You kinda need to know about the origional series first because there are some characters that do come back. So before watching Saint Seiya Omega, watch Saint Seiya first. Also, there is a prequal series called Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas that's pretty good. There's only 25 episodes, aaaand I havent finished watching all of them (T_T) Well, that's all for now folks. See ya!
