Chapter 5

Light's P.O.V.

It's been over a week with this asshole L.
We have almost all of our classes together, and just to bother me he decided to sit near me in all of them... All he does is tease me and stare until I say something to him.
Well, I can't say it's not entertaining watching him get yelled at for sitting like a frog. Or teasing him when I get a higher score in quiz... Speaking of that. I never expected L to actually be...smart? Yeah, I'm not trying to insult him but he just doesn't look like the type of guy to study... or so anything in particular. Surprisingly, me and him often get the same grade, and sometimes he gets an even higher score than me.
In fact, L publicly challenged me in front of the class. We have a big test coming up so, he said who ever got the highest score would have to do the other a favor, any favor...
Is this a stupid idea? Yes.
Was it embarrassing? Yes.
Is L an idiot? Absolutely.
Am I actually going alone with it?...Yes, mostly because I'm actually curious to see how things will go.
I hope atleast the kids in my class studied instead of thinking about how
"The battle between the two smartest kids" will go down... The rumors are just getting worse and worse. I'm on my way to the class... and in just a few moments I'll be facing him-

"What the hell watch where you're going!"
I bump into someone...It's Mello

"Oh, it's you..." he relaxes, his pissed expression turns into a cocky one "It's heard you and L an really having a little competition"

"Oh please, it's just a test"

"Just a test, though you seem to be quite anxious" he chuckles "Well, you shouldn't underestimate him"

"You shouldn't underestimate me either Mello" I smiled at him "I'll get going to my class"

"Whatever." he walked off

...Do I actually look anxious? I guess it is exciting having someone to go against, even if it is just a test

"Light-kun" L smiled from the doorway "I was afraid you wouldn't show up

"Oh yeah totally, I wouldn't show up to class because I'm afraid of taking a test"

"I sense a little sarcasm in that."

We both take a seat

"You think anyone actually studied?" He asked

"Probably not, and that's your fault"

He laughed quietly. I could feel everyone staring at us, and some people whispering

"Alright class, everything away" the teacher said and begun handing out the tests

"Good luck, Light-kun"

"....You too."

He seemed surprised at what I said, but only smiled...I felt my cheeks heat up, damn it I hate him.

I thought I had already uploaded chapter 5 ;-;... Sorry it took so long, school's really stressing me out, But on the bright side chapter 6 is also ready so I'll upload it shortly after I post this too make up for it. I also sorted out my work so I'll try to update the story more frequently ;w;
