- markings are areas of white on the horses body.
- the clump on hair growing on the back of the fetlock sabre called feathers.
- some breed shave very fine, short hair while others, such as shire horses, are framed for there long, thick feathers.
-a cornet is a small Strip of hair about 2-3 cm high, that's just above the hoof.
- a stocking is a long strip of white hair that is a lot longer then a cornet.
A snip is a small area of white above the top lip or around the mouth. A star is a star shaped patch of white hair between and above the eyes.
A stripe is a strip of white hair that goes all the way vertically down the horses face.
