DON'T WASTE MY TIME
You asked me if I’m ok
What the hell do you expect me to say?
Do I look like I’m ok?
Or is it you that has something to say?
We sit in angry silence
A hostile gulf between us
It’s not for me to say
That you’ve been playing away.
Shall I pretend I don’t know?
Put on a nonchalant show.
Don’t take me for a fool
We are no longer at school.
So where were you last night?
You came in looking a fright.
If my suspicions are right
I won’t put up a fight.
It’s probably your time to go
And me, I’ll go with the flow
There’s plenty more fish in the sea
Who’ll try to do better by me.
We had a few good years
So save your unshed tears
Don’t waste my time
You’ll never tow the line
By myself, I’ll be more than fine.
