You called her fat.
Now she can't eat.
You called her ugly.
Now that's how she sees her face every time she looks in the mirror.
You called her stupid.
Now she mentally abuses herself mercilessly for every mistake she makes.
You called her an untalented singer.
Now she's too afraid to stand in front of a microphone.
You called her unlovable.
She believed you.

She tried telling you it hurts, but you didn't take her seriously. Told her she was overreacting.

"Just a joke" you said.

Just a joke.

That's what she whispers to herself every night, tears running down her face, whole body shaking, heart palpitating.
