Oh, my, Ghouls! This is the 5th time the front desk lady told me this. This must be a mistake cause I totally gotta the letter from the CCG. "E-Excuse me, is there any chance I can even speak to the head"

Pretty damn sure the Head would know me, he has to! Who would bring a new ghoul investigator without his knowing?

Arima Kishou. I known him the moment I was born, same day and all. Just different year. Hes a year old than me. When he turned 15 and when I turned 14. Making my mom and I, unable to handle the several more ghoul attacks news reports, we went and left the city life for the calm country. Where a ghoul attack, is scarce.

"K-Kish!" Slowly walking up to Arima he blankly stares at me. He hasn't changed I see.

After a moment of silence Arima finally opened his mouth and softly said.
"Y,N. Its.. You.." Suddenly a quick second, I saw him smile. Its.. Been forever.. Since I seen that soft smile.. Even if it was just for a second. Not like he would smile back then, just. His smile back then was noticeable.

Then, there his cold hard face again.

"What are you standing there for Y,N? Do you not want to meet your partner?" Arima's hard flinching voice snapped me out of my thoughts. Oh yeah! I was so lost in thought..

Suddenly bumping into Kish's back I rub my forehead while looking at the back of his head in confusion.

"Y,N.. Call me Kish when we are alone. And here's your partner." Spinning on his heels Kish faces me with his, always so blank face with cold eyes.

"Whheeerrreee..?" Well there's nobody around, but just us. So who's my partner in crime? Looking around I give Kish a weird confused look, till he slowly opened his mouth and said.

"Me."
