Monday morning, the time is dragging. I feel so bored, maybe because I don’t know anyone yet as I am a transferee. I looked around; everyone is so excited seeing each other, coming from a very short vacation as the De la Salle University is tri-sem.

My parents split up just recently, my mom, who is mending from a broken heart took off and went to California. So I was left to stay with my dad. Well, okay na din siguro yun rather than seeing them always fight.

“Hi,” a guy came up to me eyeing the seat next to mine. “Can I?”

“No!” medyo napalakas yata ang sagot ko and quickly grabbed my back and put on the empty chair. “I’m saving it for somebody.”

“Suplada,” I heard the guy murmured going to the next row of chairs.

I am not waiting for anyone talaga, I just don’t want anyone lang to sit beside me. Arte ko no? Well, sort of nahihiya lang and umiiwas lang na matanong ng pagiging new student ko.

I should be happy, DLSU was my dream school pero I chose to study in San Beda because all of my friends are going there and took up Legal Management, far from my ambition to become an engineer. And so when my father talked me into transferring to La Salle, as we are relocating to New Manila na din, I grabbed the opportunity to take Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in Construction Technology and Management. Thanks to my ever generous dad, pero mas sad because I am going to miss my friends in Beda who are mostly my classmates since High School pa sa St. Scho. I don’t know anyone pa naman in La Salle. Well, except from those hunky basketball players of the Green Archers that my friends and I swoon over, haha. Yeah, we are from the Red Lions pero we love the Green Archers, anyway they don’t get to play against each other naman that often dahil they are from two different league. The UAAP for the Archers and the NCAA for the Lions. But of course we always choose to cheer for the Archers over our own Alma mater because of our crushes, ang babaw no?

And my friends are actually more excited pa yata that I will have the chance of seeing the ballers often since I will be going to the same University na din like them.

Hay, ang mga nagdadalaga nga naman. Pero who can blame us naman? Gwapo na, a hot bod, and galing pa mag basketball.

Rrrrriiiiiinnnnnnngggggggggg!

The final buzz of the day.

Wooohooo! I managed to get by my first day without a scratch, me being clumsy.

As I was stepping out of Geronimo Velasco Hall…

Oomph! And I landed on my butt. Ano ba yan! akala ko pa naman no scratch ako today!

“I’m sorry miss, here, let me help you,” the guy who bumped on me offered his hand to help but I pushed him off.

“Hmp! Kakainis!” I whined getting up without his help.

“Sorry talaga I’m just in a hurry. I will be late for prac-“

“Save it dude!” I cut the guy off from explaining. I don’t wanna hear your explanation!” I looked up to him. “You don’t ha-“ natulala ako, nakakahiya man aminin pero alam ko my mouth left hanged opened and my words flew off somewhere I don’t know. I tried to compose myself when I saw his brows wiggled a bit as if challenging me to continue seems like sanay siyang nakikitang natutulala ang ibang tao pag nakikita siya.

“Y-You-you!” now I look like an idiot in front of him forgetting what I was supposed to say. Bakit ba of all people siya pa ang makakabangga ko?

The King Archer himself!

Jeron Alvin Uy Teng!

And now he’s smirking down at me, ang tangkad eh, 6’2. Hindi naman ako maliit with my height of 5’7 pero he’s taller and buffer.

Urgh! Nakakahiya!

“You were saying?” Now he’s smilling, and seems like challenging pa din ako if I can still stay mad at him since alam ko ng siya ang nakabangga ko.

Hmp! So what? I’m a new student here, hindi nya alam na crush ko siya!

I looked up to him trying my best effort of not getting intimidated by him. “Next time Mr…” I pretended not knowing him, “Mr. Whatever, watch where you’re going. It’s no excuse kung nagmamadali ka!” I think I delivered it convincingly kasi napa-kunot noo and kamot siya sa batok.

“I’m sorry again,” he smiled. Parang matutunaw na ako. “By the way I’m-“ I know he is about to introduce himself as he extended his right arm for a shake hands but I cut him off again.

“-I’m not interested!” I said and walked past him. I don’t want him to think of me na nagagalitgalitan and then makipagkilala sa kanya afterwards, kahit na kating-kati  na yung kamay ko for that hand shake.

“Suplada!” I heard him said. Wow ha! Strike two ako ngayon ng word na yun ah!

Nice Erin, you just blew off the chance na maka- shake hands ang ultimate crush mo! I slapped myself mentally. Urgh!

Hmp! Napahiya na kasi ako eh.

Kainis!

Sana we just met na lang in other circumstances, kung bakit ba naman kasi mala-teleserye yung first encounter namin.

I shook my head na lang and decided to go home. And since I’m still not allowed to drive pa, I waited for taxi na lang dahil I don’t know pa paano mag commute pauwi. My dad is going to drop me off in the morning naman.
