Chapter 10

I'm about to lift on my car when I heard someone clearing his throat. I was so surprise to see Xander's smile right in front of me.

"What are you doing here?" my mouth speaks what my minds idling to ask. I don't want to sound rude yet I don't want to meddle with this guy for now. May mahalaga akong dapat na pagtuunan ng pansin and that is Rylle. Ayuko na ng panibagong problema.

His forehead creased a bit pero nakangiti parin siyang matamang nakatingin sakin. "My mom wants to say good morning to you."

"Good morning to you too and to your mom." I give him a big smile as I hold the key to my car. "May klase pa kasi ako kaya maauna na muna ako sayo ah."

He step towards me kaya nagtaka ako. Ano ba talagang ginagawa niya dito? The scene last night was so apparent that he has no interest on me. Gusto ko tuloy itanong sa kanya kung saan na ba ang mahiwaga niyang cell phone na hindi niya maalis sa tabi niya kagabi.

"I'll ride you to the university." Bigla niyang isinara yung pinto ng kotse kong nabuksan ko na. What's his up to? I'm starting to get piss yet I don't want to be offensive so I tried my best to smile and act nice just like how I'm doing since I was born.

"No, it's okay. Kaya ko naman. Baka nakaka istorbo ako sayo." Now I know why he's not familiar kasi nasa corporate world na pala siya. He's get up shows formality and honor. Masyado siyang formal sa panginin ko. He's a bachelor. A young businessman.

He abruptly shook his head and held my wrist. Nabigla ako ng basta na lang niya akong hinila papunta sa kotse niya. "Mom wants me to ride you there." He gives me an apologetic smile.

"Wow! Can I treat her as my best friend then?" sarcasm was all sounded in my voice. I'm just so tired pretending, well in fact kaya ko namang magmaldita sa kahit na sino. "She's too generous and thoughtful." I added. He look at me firmly for a second kaya napaiwas ako ng tingin. Akala ko guni-guni ko lang yong kagabi na masyado siyang malagkit tumingin. Gosh! I'm not delusional this time. I heard him chuckle as the engine start. Ugh! Screw with that chuckle.

Buong byahe ay wala ako sa mood. This is totally insane. Hezekiel's gone but here comes Xander na hindi ko alam kung anong trip sa buhay. He's too quiet and I think that's the best thing for me. But suddenly, his phone rings. He look at me with surprise but I just smile at him at inabala ang sarili ko sa pagbibilang ng building sa labas.

Like hello! I don't care who that caller is. Baka yong textmate niya kagabi. If that's the case? Well, I'm now silently thanking her or him for meddling kasi wala talaga akong balak makipag kaibigan sa lalaking to. I hate issues. I hate worries. Less talk. Less mistake.

"Thanks for the ride." I just give him a small smile as I pulled the door to open. But the heck! The lock click made me gasp. "Ma le-late na ako. Tell your mom 'Thank you'."

He chuckle and croaks his head towards me though his eyes still glued at his phone. Really? Kaya niyang mag multi-task kasi nagagawa niyang abalahin ako kahit special sa kanya yang pesting cell phone niya. "I'll be fetching you after class."
