This Too Shall Pass

I know this is just for now,

This too shall pass!

But how am I to overcome

My inner demons alone?

This world does'nt scare me;

But my spirit does!

When everyone is around

And I still  feel aloof,

The gag that binds my mouth;

The pain that writhes my being;

Every minuscule moment

Builds up wrath within.

I try to calm myself down

This too shall pass,

This too shall pass!

Yet doubt stirs again

Like a serpent right out

Of hibernation mode.

Fake friends all around

And premonitions still worse.

Standing alone I'm drained

Of all my strength.

Is there an elixir which

Can make me alright?

All I can say or think of is that

This too shall pass.

And now it has become my chant

"This too shall pass!"
