Chapter 21: Surprises Suck

Lauren's POV:

"Is it true? Lauren, please we want to know." I try to push them away, but they're too many. "Just get the hell away from here, leave! I swear to God I'll call the cops if you don't." I yell at the paparazzi from the door of our apartment while Camila holds me back. "Lauren calm down, please!" Camila tells me and closes the door. "Fuck, I hate them so much." I say and she rubs my back. We can still hear them outside our door, yelling and knocking. "They'll leave eventually babe, don't worry!" She says softly kissing my head.

****Twelve hours earlier.****

Its been a week since Camila broke up with Austin and things have been great. We moved in together after a couple of days with the excuse that Camila was having a horrible time after her break up and she needed me with her. Thankfully the girls bought it. Living with her again is amazing, it really is. And we've been doing great on the studio too! Yesterday we recorded Teenage Dream. Camz and I sang the chorus together and it sounds awesome! I woke up this morning with Camila's arms wrapped around my waist and her head laying on my chest. The scent of her hair fills up my lungs and I know today is going to be a great day. I feel Camila moving around and she slowly opens her eyes. "Hey." She says yawning and I kiss her forehead. "Good morning Camzi, how did you sleep?" "Great, your bed is really comfy." She says smiling and I kiss her lips. "So, what are we doing today?" I ask her getting out of bed. "Are you serious Lo? We've been doing the exact same thing everyday for the past two weeks. Studio, choreography, more recording, sleep. Repeat endlessly until you die from exhaustion." She groans and I laugh. "This is our dream Camz, and it's finally coming true." I tell her sweetly and she nods getting out of bed too. "So who showers first?" She asks holding my waist. "I don't care." I answer staring into her beautiful eyes. "Okay, then I'll go to sleep again." She says grinning and pecks my lips. I roll my eyes and walk to the bathroom. "Have fun!" She yells getting back into my bed and I wink at her closing the door behind me.


Camila's POV:

God I have to hurry if I want to surprise Lauren. I hope she takes a long shower today, I need time! I put on Lauren's hoodie and run to the elevator. When I finally get to the kitchen of our building I see the Chef making scrambled eggs. "Hey Mr. Benoit, good morning!" I say with my best smile. "Hello Ms. Cabello, do you want your usual orange juice?" He tells me with his cute french accent. "I actually need to ask you a huge favor Mr B. I'm planning a surprise breakfast for Lauren. Do you have some eggs, waffles, french toast or anything ready so I can take it upstairs? I know we're not allowed to eat in our rooms, but please Mr. Benoit, I'm begging you!" I tell him with puppy eyes and he smiles. "Only because I like you and Ms. Jauregui. I'll wrap up some things for you." He answers and I smile. "Thank you so much, you are the best!" I say and he laughs going to the back of the kitchen. After a while he comes back with two white plastic bags. "There you go, hope you enjoy it!" He says winking at me. "Thank you again Mr. Benoit, you rock, I love you!" I tell him smiling and run back to the elevator. I really hope she is still in the shower and I have time to set everything up. The elevator gets to our floor and I run into our bedroom. Lauren is brushing her wet hair and she smiles at me. She's wearing her Rolling Stones shirt, light blue jean shorts and black Chucks, she looks hot! "Hey, where were you?" She asks with I smile and I walk to the table catching my breath. "Damn it, I'm late!" I groan leaving the plastic bags on the table. "What are you talking about Camzi? What's that?" She says pointing at the bags. "Umm can you close your eyes for like two minutes?" I ask her smiling and she nods closing her beautiful eyes. "Good girl." I tell her and peck her lips. As fast as I can I grab plates and bowls and serve everything Mr. Benoit packed, waffles, scrambled eggs and fresh fruit. I pour orange juice in two glasses, and walk towards Lauren. "Now..." I tell her hugging her from behind and resting my chin on her shoulder. "Open your eyes." I hear her gasp and she turns around and kisses me. "Oh my God, Camila you are the sweetest thing in this world, I can't believe you did this for me!" She says and hugs me. "Well, I did it for us, I'm hungry too." I answer and she laughs, her laugh is the cutest thing in the world. "I love you so much! Oh my God, you're amazing!" She says hugging me again. Then we sit on the table and start eating. "Nice hoodie by the way." She tells me sipping some orange juice and I smile. "I'm sorry, I should've asked for it." I answer and I start to take it off, but she stops me. "Leave it on, it looks better on you." Lauren tells me with a smile and I blush. "How do you do it?" I ask her and she tilts her head confused. "Do what Camzi?" Lauren asks me softly biting her lip. "Make me feel this way. Make me want to forget about everything in this world and just be with you." I answer and she smiles. "I don't know, but you do the exact same thing." Her answer makes me smile like a little girl. "You are everything I need Lo, you are my best friend and the best girlfriend in the world." I tell her softly and she pecks my lips. "I love you." She whispers and kisses me again. Her eyes are glowing like they never had before. Suddenly someone knocks on our door. "Mila, Lauren are you up yet? Simon just called and we need to hit the studio earlier today!" We hear Dinah scream from outside our room. "I'll deal with her." Lauren says standing up and leans for one more kiss before our little world has to disappear. She opens the door and Dinah walks in. "Hey Lo!" She says and then waves at me. "What's up Dinah Jane?" I say smiling. "Nothing really, what's up with you guys? Morning date?" She says giggling. "I wanted to thank Lauren for being there for me this past week." I tell her and Lauren smiles at me. "Aww Camila, you are so sweet!" Dinah says and hugs me. "Yeah, she really is!" Lauren tells us from the other side of the room and I blush. "We are leaving in thirty minutes Mila, get dressed or something!" Dinah says and I nod. I pick out some clothes and walk into the bathroom. I'm so happy Lauren liked my surprise! Everything with her is perfect, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.


Lauren's POV:

"So, how's is she doing?" Dinah asks me with a concerned tone in her voice. "One step at a time, but she's so much better!" I answers sweetly. "I'm so happy you guys are friends again. Those few months you weren't as close and I was living with Mila were so hard! She barely slept or ate, she cried every night, you have no idea what a mess she was." She tells me. I hate to hear that, I hate to think that I ever made her cry or suffer. I would give anything to make her happy, I really would. "But we're back to normal now and everything is great!" I answer and she smiles. "I'm happy to hear that!" Dinah tells me and Camila walks out of the bathroom wearing a white dress and bow. She looks so cute! "Ready to go?" She asks us and we both nod. Dinah walks out of our room and we walk behind her. "Thank you for everything baby, you're the best!" I whisper in her ear and she squeezes my waist. "Glad you liked it!" She answers softly and closes the door behind her.

We recorded a few more songs today, but my favorite is definitively Teenage Dream, that's my song after all. We are having lunch with the girls before going to the studio again, and I'm exhausted. "Oh my Gosh guys hear this out!" Ally says all of the sudden looking at her phone. "Teenage heartthrob Austin Mahone confirms it: "Me and Camila are done." The pop star talked to the crew of Clevver TV about the details of his break up." Ally suddenly stops reading and her chin drops. "Ally why did you stop? I want to know what he said!" Camila says playing with her food. "Wow this is messed up!" Ally tells us and then continues reading. " "Camila wasn't who I thought she was." Austin said in a recent interview. "I tried to ignore it, but she was in love with someone else all the way." Camila and I choke with our food and Ally stops reading again. "Oh God, are you guys okay?" Normani asks us and we nod looking at each other. "Shall I continue?" Ally asks. "Yes, please! I want to know what else that little bastard has to say!" Camila says drinking some water and I try not to giggle. "I didn't know there was someone else in your life Mila, is it Michael?" Dinah asks her and she shakes her head. "No! He's lying like a little bitch!" Camila answers and squeezes me leg under the table. Ally grabs her phone again and continues reading. "When we asked him who this other guy was Austin laughed. "I'm not saying any names, lets just say she and Camila are way too close." He answered. She? Is Camila into girls now? He didn't say any particular names, but I guess Camren shippers should be excited, we know exactly who Austin is talking about." Ally finishes saying and puts her phone on the table. Shit, I can't believe he told the media! I look at Camila and her jaw dropped all the way to the floor. "Wow, that was intense." Dinah says looking at us. "I can't believe he would do something like that!" Ally says pissed and I put my hand on Camila's leg, she's clearly upset. Fuck that douche bag, he's the biggest asshole in the world! "Don't worry you guys, no one is going to believe you are a couple!" Dinah says trying to comfort us. Camila holds her head and looks at me with a confused look on her face. "Yeah, don't worry about it Camz, its just stupid rumors, no one is going to believe them." I tell her rubbing her leg under the table. I know she really doesn't want anyone to know about us yet. I'm going to kill that asshole, I really am.

We are finally on our way back home. Camila has barely said a single word since Ally read us the whole Austin thing. I need to talk to her, I need to hug her and let her know I'm here and everything is going to be alright, but I hadn't had the chance yet. We get off the van and get on the elevator. When we reach our floor we realize we are surrounded by paparazzi. "Hey ladies, would you kiss for us?" "Camren look over here, say hi to the camera." "Do your parents know you are lesbians? How did your friends take it?" We are overwhelmed by all of the questions as we try to make our way through to our apartment. Camila looks so scared. We get to our door and I tell her to stay inside. But they didn't, they stayed there until the next morning.
