You didn't know how, but you somehow managed to get roped into having a 'brother-sister bonding day' with Matthias. He had brought it up with you the day before while you were helping him with dinner. He wanted to take you to see a movie and get some food after. Now, maybe it was just the delicious smell of dinner cooking that put you in a superb mood, but you enthusiastically accepted.
You wouldn't have actually declined, seeing how excited he was, but later on you were a bit on the fence about wanting to go. You didn't hate Matthias, not at all. You loved to spend time with him, though you never really expressed it. It was just that he could be a bit much sometimes, and loudness wasn't exactly appreciated in the more reserved Danish public. You decided just to go anyways, he was your family, after all.
So the next day you found yourself waiting in Matthias' room as he finished doing his hair, relentlessly teasing him about he took longer to get ready than you did. He waved his hand, dismissing the insult, "beauty takes time, my dear sister. It explains why you look like that."
You widened your eyes, grabbing a pillow from his bed and throwing it at his head, "I hate you so much."
Letting out a gasp, he checked his reflection before throwing it back to you, "you're going to mess up my hair, (y/n)!"
You looked at the pillow indecisively, before setting it back down in it's original spot, "Fine, cry baby. Lord knows we would be in here for another hour if I messed it up."
"Shut up, I'm almost done. Don't get your panties in a twist." he said, adding a bit more gel to his hair, "and... now I'm finished."
Letting out a sigh of relief, you jumped up from the bed and threw him his coat that he set down next to you earlier. You were actually pretty excited about seeing the movie, it looked funny from the trailers. But to be fair, it was meant for kids. You and Matthias were children at heart though, so it hardly mattered.
After he finished lacing up his boots, you two were ready to go. You slung your purse over your shoulder and bounded down the stairs, your brother following closely behind you, just as thrilled as you were. Emil shot you two an amused glance when you bolted out of the door and to Matthias' car, not even bothering to bid him goodbye.
Sprinting across the grass, you beat Matthias to his truck by a long shot. You expected that would be the turnout though; you two raced like that frequently, no matter how many times Emil claimed it was childish, or that Tino would scold you for being reckless. Most of the time you won, though Matthias always claimed it was because you "cheated", but you knew he got out of shape after his viking days.
Leaning against the passenger side door, you waited for him to catch up and unlock it. Soon enough, he panted up to the drivers side, sending you a glare through the window, "you cheated!"
You rolled your eyes, "okay, old man. Whatever makes you feel better. Now hurry up and open the car, I'm cold!"
He obliged, sticking his hand in his pocket and fishing for the key. After a few seconds, his face took on a look of confusion, and he checked the other.
"Haha... (y/n), I'll be right back..."
Before you could respond, he took off back in the direction of the house. Of course, he forgot his keys, of all things. Letting out a small chuckle, you imagined the snarky comment Emil would have for him. Emil... he was a strange guy. None of your friends back home were like him, though you couldn't help but be drawn to him. You were actually quite surprised with yourself because of how much you hung out with him, from bothering him in his room, to tagging along with him when he went to run errands. It was strange, you wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. Maybe, you thought, it was just because he was your closest friend. Yeah, that had to be it.
