Mark POV


After taking Honey and Kalvin to the doctors , we were headed home .,Until Honey started speaking .

"Slick ... I'm hungry , can you please give me something to eat . I'll do anything you want ."

She told me.

Woah . Anything , hmmm..... Wait what am I doing ? I ain't like that ! Get it together Mark damn .

"Nahh you don't have to do nothing , I'll get you something to eat ."

I told her making a U - turn .
She looked shocked that I didn't what her to give me nothing ... Shit I was shocked too !

"Really ? You don't what me to help you , with a lil something ?"

She asked looking in my eyes .
I laughed , but she was being dead ass .

"Look i know you been through a lot wit them niggas slaving you , but I'm not them you can get what ever you want . Imma take care of you ."

Oh shit ... Did I just say that ? Yeah I did say that ! Damn I'm good . But I think I really meant it ... I'm not sure .

"Thank you Slick ,thank you for every thing ."

She leaned over and hugged me , I hugged her back . I didn't wanna let go ... I don't know why but I didn't .


" Soo Honey , what you hungry for ? We got McDonald's , Burger King , Sonic , Hardeyys ."

I ask her naming food places she might want .

"Umm can we got to Burger King please ?

Yeah ma , you don't have to beg . "

I say pulling into a parking space .

I got out , got little Kalvin out who was sound asleep . And helped Honey out .
We walked in and waited in line . I looked at the menu , I was gonna order the number 5 with a large Milkshake .

"You know what you want ?"

I ask Honey who was standing real close to me .

"Yeah I think I'm gonna get the number 5 with a medium milkshake ."

No she didn't ....she was ordering the same thing except the shake was smaller .

"Dang that's what I was getting .

Oh I'm sorry I'll change my order .

Nah nah . It's fine I was just saying .. We're ordering the same thing like we think alike .

Oh . Ahah that is funny . "

She laughed a little .
Damn she got a beautiful smile , she got pearly white teeth and they straight .

"You know that's the first time i've seen you smile.?

I don't smile much anymore , I don't have much to smile about .

Of course you do ."

I say trying to convince her .

"Your still alive , you and your baby are okay , your finally out of that hell hole your free , Miss. FREEman ."

She laughed again showing all her teeth , she has a perfect laugh too , and --

"Next ! "

A cashier shouted to us .
It was a girl , with a black eye and some scratches and bruises on her face . Mmm she must have got her ass beat I'm not surprised with that stank attitude. I looked at her name tag and It read "hi I'm Trina" . Hmm sounds familiar .

I ordered for the both of us , and got a little milk for kalvin . We sat down and started eating .
Honey kept thanking me for the food and stuff I told her it's good .
I normally dunk my fries in my shake but I didn't wanna seem weird in front of her . When I looked up at Honey , she was dunking her fries in her Shake .... I got a feeling I'm gonna like her.


Honey POV

Mmmmm , this food is good ! It's been forever since I had a decent meal .
Slick is so nice and so polite , I didn't have to pay Him for nothing . I don't wanna be a burden tho , even though this is my first day being outta that hell hole .

"Here your suppose to take this when you eat ."

Slick said snapping me out of my thoughts & handing me the pill bottle the doctor prescribed me .
I took it , it was a small pill so it was easy to swallow .

"Slick....did you really mean what you said ?"

I finally asked him , I just wanna know because I have serious trust issues and I'm surprised I'm her with him trusting him like this .

"What I say ?

What you said in the car ... About you were going to take car of me , was it true or nahh ?"

He laughed , I don't find it funny I was being serious . I guess he could tell because he stopped real quick .

"Of course mean it , even tho I don't know much about you ....I feel like your my responsibility . "

He said taking another bite of his burger . I was shocked , part of me wanted to trust him but the other part told me that I should be Independent .
Slick grabbed my hand and looked me dead in the eye .

"Look , I promise you I won't let nothing hurt you . Not while I'm around you girl and that's the damn truth & that's same for little Kalvin ."

He said tilting the baby bottle for Kalvin to drink .
Wow , my heart is sinking . Slick is just amazing .... Tall , muscular , and the most prettiest smile ever with hazel brown eyes .
I really think he would take care of me but I can't give him all my trust not just yet .



Lisa POV
(Mark & Reyna's mom)

It's been 4 months and 3 weeks since I been in the over night rehab center .
I miss my kids oh my babies I miss my babies !
When Little Marky Mark & his friends found me , he didn't even look at me nor speak to me . He told his friends to put me in the car and take me to the rehab center . Oh my poor baby boy he must be heart broken .

I cry every night missing my kids . I knew I was going down the wrong path but with my husband dead I just couldn't bare it . Ohh Reyna ! My Sweet Angel Reyna ! She probably never wants to talk to me , I send letters plenty of letters . I call , no answer lord Jesus help me .
When I get outta here in a month or so I have something important to tell them . Over the time I was in here ..... I got a call . I call that I would never get but that day I got the call .
