20 - A New Us
Charlotte POV
I'm pretty sure our entire school is onto Henry and I. Ever since Ray made us confess our relationship to him a couple days ago, we've been getting creepy looks from our classmates. Plus, Jasper's drifted away from us and joined the creeps. I swear, if I see one more of their weird, suggestive faces, I'm gonna slap someone.
I walked into school and I snapped. I grabbed the nearest person to be and demanded to know why everyone was looking at Henry and I weird. They told me that there was audio leaked of Henry confessing our relationship and a video of us kissing in the janitors closet. I thanked the person before throwing them against the wall.
I saw Henry at his locker and immediately walked over to him.
"I figured out why everyone's been looking at us weird."
"I already figured that out, baby."
"Did you just call me baby?"
"Yeah. So?"
"You didn't ever call Bianca, Chloe or Veronika baby."
"Well, none of those girls meant as much to me as you do."
I felt a blush creep up my neck and looked down so my curly hair could cover my face.
"Anyways, what's so bad about everyone knowing we're dating?"
"Nothing, it's just that I would've preferred one of us to do it. Rather than have some "leaked" video and audio recording announce it."
"I understand that but it's out right? No take backs. You're stuck with me now. Officially."
"We haven't even changed our statuses."
"Actually already have that covered. When you fell asleep while studying yesterday, I changed both of our statuses."
"So I get to do nothing?"
"You get to kiss me."
"And?"
Henry feigned being hurt, even putting a hand over his heart dramatically.
"Charlotte Bolton, how could you say such things. You've really hurt my feelings. You now must compensate by going out with me after school."
"Or.." I leaned up and kissed him on the lips.
"But I'll take you up on that offer, too. Feels like a two for one deal."
His face brightens with his gorgeous smile and I can't help to reflect one back.He wraps an arm around me, leading us into the second hallway when we're stopped by Bianca.
"Is it true?" She asks. She looks at Henry's arm around me. "I guess it is." She then turns her focus back to Henry. "Look, I still like you and I know you still like me. We can still make this work."
"Right here." I said blandly.
"Bianca, I'm in a relationship and I've never been happier. I did have feelings for you but those feelings are nothing compared to the feelings I have for Charlotte."
I smiled warmly before I realized what Bianca was doing.
"Girl test?"
"Girl test."
"What's a girl test?"
"When a guy gets into a new relationship and has had previous relationships, a girl from his past makes some kind of test up to see if he's loyal to his new girl. It's basically to test if the guy has truly moved on or not. Also is really great at preventing potential or further heartbreak." Bianca explained.
Henry turned to me and asked me if I was in on it.
"The new girl isn't ever in on it. She just receives a proving whether or not the guy was loyal. But I obviously don't need one since I'm right here."
"Anyways, I'm really happy for you guys and I hope this really works out."
Henry looks down at me, smiling goofily. "Something tells me it will."
* * * *
"You brought me here for our first date?!"
"Yeah! Is it okay?"
"It's better than okay. It's amazing!" I even kissed him to prove it.
"I definitely believe you now. But I think I would be completely solid if you laid another one on me."
I chuckled before giving him a peck on the lips.
"I swear, you're way more affectionate than me."
"Who cares?! Now let's go!"
Henry brought me to iFly, indoor skydiving. I was practically buzzing with excitement. We guided by a employee to the changing rooms and giving our fly gear. We went into our respective changing rooms before coming out all decked out. If I wasn't buzzing with excitement before, I definitely am now.
"I can't believe we're about to do this. Have you ever done it before?"
"No, but for some reason, I feel like I have."
I shrugged at his vague response. I grabbed his hand and ran in line. It wasn't long before we were up next.
"Are you guys ready?" The employee asked.
We both nodded. He gave us the review of the instructions and safety regulations we had heard about earlier.
"Does everything make sense? Do I need to repeat anything for clarification? Please speak up if I do."
We both shook our heads no.
"Well, climb on in the guide inside will get you started."
We nodded and walked in. The guide was introducing themselves as the air turned on. They grabbed Henry and I's hands before slowly lifting us up and guiding us to the 'dead man's body' position. We were flying and it felt awesome! The guide told us that if we were feeling brave, we could try to do tricks. I decided not to try to do anything crazy but Henry way able to do a couple flips.
"C'mon Char! You have to try and live a little if you're gonna be my girlfriend!"
"I don't wanna die being you're girlfriend!"
"You won't! Just trust me! Do you trust me?" He yelled.
"Of course I do!"
Then he grabbed my hand and guided me into doing a front flip. I screamed the entire time.
"I can't believe you just tried to kill me!"
"Didn't that give you a rush of adrenaline?" He yelled.
"Yeah! I guess! I hate when you're right!"
"You don't hate me at all!" He says as he laughs.
The guide warns us that we only have a couple minutes left.
"Grab my hand! We're going to do this last flip together!"
"Okay!" I grabbed his hand. We both moved our momentum forward to make us flip. And I DIDN'T scream that time. I looked at him floating next to me. I couldn't help but love this new dynamic. I love
