Three Down, One to Go (Part 32)

I found myself in shock as I felt a wooden staff materialize in my hand. Around me, everyone tried to hide their suprise as they got used to their weapon of choice.

I couldn't beleive that I had been so stupid to forget about weapons. I had organized the whole entire Grianan trainee group, but I forgot about weapons.

I pulled our group behind a rock, then had them climb the rock for a better vantage point. Scurrying up the rock face took no time at all. I looked around and saw the choas around me. Our defense was being heavily attacked by Eaton and Bromley, luckily, Bromley and Eaton were fighting each other too.  A girl nudged me to get my attention.

"Shouldn't we go back to help them? We are a middle group..." she said.

I thought for a moment.

"No. We need to take the bluntness of there two teams to our advantage. They already dragged back all of our middle plus two of our offensive groups, we need to stay on the offense," I said. "Lets head towards Bromley."

Everyone nodded enthusiastic as we looked at the other option. Eaton was a terrifying place. I watched another victim get pulled under the surface, just to resurface seconds later to be dragged to the shore by a Eaton trainee. I shuddered. At least the Eaton team was being nice. Bethabara had finally gotten off of their starting plate, and anyone who got onto the plate with them was promply shoved into the lava, were they came up gasping for air and screaming. Seconds later, the trainee would be gone, and the lava would fill in were the trainee had been before they had been teleported away.

Our group charged into the forest that belonged to Bromley. We slowly made our ways through the trees, trying to be as stealthy as we could. I finally saw the towers base. To prepare, I split up the group, into three groups, two groups of two, and me. We all took different sides of the tower. As soon as we were all in position, I took a few steps forward to see the meadow. I was suprised by what I saw. There was no one there, except for 7 students that meandered around the tower waiting for action. At that moment a plan to form in my head. I motioned my plan to the other groups. One group responded with an 'I understand.' While the other just looked at me like I was a manic, and I suppose I was. I counted to three in my head, then charged into the meadow straight into the knot of trainees.

They turned on me, then laughed.

"You wanting a death wish?" One said.

Another added on. "Oh, it is that girl from registration."

"What is wrong with being that girl?" I asked.

A few of the trainees scoffed. "Oh, we have an interesting one here. Fiery, kind of cute, yet too much of an outcast to ever amount to much."

That got my blood boiling. I was more than they would ever be anytime in their life. I didn't wait for another insult. I attacked. The first trainee hadn't been ready to fight, and had been leaning on his sword when I whapped him quickly with my staff. My aim was a little more deadly than I had intended it to be, and the trainee collapsed immediately. There would be an awful bump on his head when he woke up. A second later, he was teleported away.

I then turned and took anther one out of the picture before the Bromley trainees realized what was happening. The reaciton was instant. All at once I had 5 trainees on me. I panicked. I wouldn't survive this without having being creamed. Yes, I had fought far more skilled people before, but I had had Belle's guidance and experience to guide me. Now, for some reason I couldn't reach the experience she had, only the experience I had. I completely ran out of ideas and moves. I had 4 trainees still on me, and one of the trainees managed to hit my left arm. It popped, and searing pain went through my arm before it went numb. I took a deep breath and kept fighting. I still had my one working hand, and I could use that to defend myself, but it was no use. I was loosing the fight, and there was nothing I could do about it. So I did the last thing the enemy would have expected me to do. I surrendered. I tucked my staff under my numb limb, then held further up the staff to keep the staff steady. The Bromley trainees closed in, seeing weakness.
