You and your group all need to be on the same page. You can't not have a plan and just wing it. You can't just decide what you want to do and expect the rest of the group to be mind readers. When making a plan you need to make sure that every one of your members knows the plan, even those who might not be going on the trip. They might be your saviours. They will have to know exactly where you are if they need to come an rescue you because your not back to base yet. Make sure everyone is included and knows the procedures. Before the trip, ask everyone what there job is. Don't leave until you know everyone knows.
