"About what you said. Last time."
"Yeah."
"I've been thinking and I think I -"
I cut him off. "You don't have to say it. I know you only like me as a friend."
"That's not what I was going to say."
"Oh."
"I think I might love you too Mae."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
I reach over for his hand.
"I don't know what took me so long to realize. The way I feel whenever you touch me. The way you smile and look at everything in a good way. Your laugh. Everything about you. It drives me crazy Mae."
I give him a little smile. "So what now?"
"Maybe we can give this thing a try. I don't know a lot but I know I want you to be apart of my life."
"And I want you to be in mine."
"So are we officially a couple?"
"I guess. This won't be weird right?"
"It's only weird if we make it weird."
And for the rest of the evening we sat there, in the park, hand in hand, smiling like complete idiots.
