Watching Viktor skate always inspired you to learn how to skate and one day join him in competition.

It was devastating the day that you heard he was retiring, knowing that you would never be able to skate against him and to meet him. It broke your heart. However when you heard the rumours he was going to be a coach your heart lept and gave you butterflies.

It was later announced that there would be a short skate competition in which he would choose a winner to coach and help. However there would only be ten skaters invited to be in the competition, all chosen by Viktor himself. The competitors would be announced in seven days and the competition would be held seven days after that.

Six days. It had been six days since the letters had been sent and you still had nothing. Every time the doorbell rang, or something came through the letterbox, but still nothing.

It was in the evening  there was another at the door. By this point, you had lost hope of getting any letter to do with skating.

As you gloomily slumped towards the door to answer it the person knocked again.

"I'm coming! One second!"

As you opened the door a letter was handed to you.

"A letter for you Mr/Miss (L/n), have a good evening."

"Thank you, goodnight"

As you walked back inside and got cosy on the sofa, you decided to open in.

Dear Miss/Mr (L/n)

It has come to my attention that you are an extremely good figure skater and I personally would like to ask you if you attended a competition to win special coaching by me, Viktor Nikiforov.

I hope to see soon,

Take care,

Viktor Nikiforov.

You re-read this letter over and over, still not quite believing what you read. You came up with excuses of why you might be thinking this.

"I'm just tired" you thought to yourself.

"I'm just imaging it. It can't be real"

It was only on the news the next day when you heard your name;

"....And the final competitor, (f/n) (l/n)."

Hearing this made you squeel with joy and it finally pushed you over the line to believe that all of this was real. It wasn't a dream.

From that day on every day, whenever you had the chance you practiced and practiced. You practised your flips, your waltz', salchows, toe loops, loops, flips, lutz' and axels. You practiced everything to perfection.

When the day came for the competion you were so nervous but excited at the same time. As you walked through the doors to the rink a crowd of reporters crowded around you.

"(Y/n) how do you feel about being here?"

"(Y/n) are you nervous to be competing for a place to be mentored by the great Viktor Nikiforov?"

(Y/n) this,  (y/n) that. There were so many questions. You tried to answer them all as you were walking but in the end you couldn't.

As you entered the locker room and started to get ready you heard the cheers from the crowd coming and going as each of the skaters.

The skater before you had just been called on and with that was your que to warm up. As the previous skator finished, you were waiting by the entry gate (Note: I don't know if this is right, I'm sorry) getting into the mood for skating.

"....And next up, (y/n) (l/n)!"

You entered the rink and got into your starting position waiting for the music.

As the music started, you moved to it nailing every quad and movement there was in your short skate.

By the end of it, in your signature position, heart pounding and out of breath, you heard the crowd go wild.

As the evening went on, you and all the other skaters waited anxiously for Viktor to make up his mind. You all waited and waited until you couldn't wait no longer.

"Would all the skaters like to enter the rink for the final decision please."

As you entered the rink, you saw Viktor in his pime. Holding the microphone smiling, he said,

"I'm thankful for all of you coming today and you all did excellently however I can only train one. After a long and thoughtful time, I have decided to be coach to (y/n) (l/n)!"

Hearing these words made your heart skip a beat with joy. This was better than your dream! Not to compete against him, but to be trained by him! You couldn't believe your ears.

As you celebrated with him and introduced yourself, he asked the best question that has ever been asked to you;

"Well then (y/n), will you let me be your coach?"

~Well then guys, this is the end of this oneshot, I hope you enjoyed it! I'd also like to give a massive thank you to MiraculousFairy for the amazing cover they made me. (Attached at the top) I love it so much, so thank you!~
