Water effects

Ok, so after my Druion chapters got commented on, I figured that my previous drawings look pretty amateur.

So I figured I'd do less inking and more shading.

So I did less skeleton detail and more of a quick sketch

So I did less skeleton detail and more of a quick sketch. As you can guess, this is my character Druion from WoW, because I am a butt head and need to tell you every single time.

Now this just made me cringe

Now this just made me cringe. His eyes are noticeable different,  his right eyebrow, (on the left side to us) is bigger than the other, his nose looks off and his beard makes NO freakin sense with his face. Before I drew the beard he looked seriously feminine. And I was looking at this going: "Yeesh, this looks awful."

15 cringes later I decided to draw a neck.

BOOM. Ok, so there's a huge gap between the drawings, but it still looks very off.

1st, I looked up "how to draw wet hair." And so I used about 2 great pictures for reference. Since most males have short hair, I used females for the reference.

2nd, I looked up "How to draw wet skin." And it took a while to get a good reference, since most of the results were anime and others were just plain weird. (I'm one of those people who don't like most anime. Sorry all those anime lovers put there but... different people have different tastes.)

And the lip effect is another picture I used, if you want I can give the links.

The thing that bugged me the most was that his neck was darker than his face

The thing that bugged me the most was that his neck was darker than his face. But after a while I went back to drawing and shading it right... my eraser top is all black from the lead of my pencils.

To be honest with you all I never drew a wet beard before

To be honest with you all I never drew a wet beard before. Nor wet clothes. But that's ok, I will work on it. I mean, we all are beginners at something, ammiright?

Actually my mom, (an amazing artist) helped me with his beard. The water droplets are what I did myself and it's surprisingly challenging to make them right. They looked like pimples if I shaded them too dark. My favorite droplet is the one that's dripping down his cheek. I dunno, just something about it appeals me.

Actually it kinda freaks me out to see Druion like this and non graphic and computer-y

Actually it kinda freaks me out to see Druion like this and non graphic and computer-y. Am I the only one who thinks that? Just me? Ok, well anyway!

Cheers to the players of Warcraft! And happy Feast of Winterveil!

And to those who aren't nerdy as me: Merry Christmas!
