Chapter 9

Red eyes glanced at the village as everyone worked to build it. Black locks moved with the wind. He walked through the village in search for a familiar dark-haired girl. When he couldn’t find her, he pouted.

‘I know she’s here… but where?’

He asked the locals for help, but they all said they never knew of a girl. He sighed, frustrated.

‘Where is she?’

He was suddenly bumped into hard and ended up falling to the floor.

“Oh, I’m so sorry!” a girlish voice screamed. The boy looked up at met blue eyes.

“Are you okay?” she asked. He nodded in response. A sigh of relief came out of her mouth.

As he stood up, the female raised a brow.

“You’re not from around here, are you?” she stated. He looked at her and nodded his head.

“You’re right. I’m not from around here. I’m here to actually see someone. You think you could help me?” the female smiled and nodded.

He dug into his pocket and took out a picture. The female examined it. Finally, she smiled and looked at him.

“Oh I know her! She’s one of the patients I took care of at the hospital” she stated. His eyes lit up at this.

“Can you show me to her?” he asked.

“Of course” she nodded and smiled. “Let’s go!”

‘Finally.’

Kakashi has finally recovered from his injury. Today, he went to go visit Kai. Since the news he got from Gai about Kai and Sasuke. He figured he should visit.

As he entered Kai’s room he found not only Kai, but Sasuke as well. An eyebrow was raised, but he shook it off. Mao came out of the blue and jumped on Kai’s stomach.

“Why did they take Kai?” he asked himself.

A light appeared above his head. “Do they know about the demon?”

Then he thought again. “If they did, they would have taken her already.”

He glanced at Sasuke with an eyebrow raised. “Could it?”

He shook that thought away.

He suddenly heard the door open and turned around. The person at the door looked at Kakashi as well. After a moment, a smile appeared on their face.

“Hello”

Kakashi raised a brow. He notices that the person had the same eyes as Kai, as well as the same black hair. However, he had a kind and happy aura about him, unlike Kai.

“Who are you?” Kakashi asked. The male looked at Kai then backed to Kakashi.

“I’m Daichi, Kai’s brother.”

“You’re Kai’s brother?” Kakashi questioned. He nodded his head.

“Yes, for years I’ve been training so I could find her” He replied. Daichi glanced at Kai.

“So, what happen to her?” he asked. A worried look appeared on his face. Kakashi sighed.

“During the Chuunin Exams she was abducted and taken to the forest nearby. Luckily, my students found her just in time. She was being suffocated.” Daichi eyes widened.

“That’s not all. Not that long ago, she was kidnapped again and badly injured. Fortunately, she was saved, but she’s in critical danger. Our next hokage came just in time to heal her wounds as well as Sasuke, the boy next to her.” Daichi looked at Sasuke.

“She’s fine now. She should be waking up soon.” He stated.

Daichi wished that after he said that her eyes would open. However, that didn’t happen, but he stilled looked at her.

“If you’re Kai’s brother,” Kakashi began, “Then you know about her parents, right?”

Daichi nodded. “I was still young back then. When Kai was born, my parents found out that she was born with the ancient family demon.”

“Ancient family demon?” Kakashi questioned. Daichi nodded.

“During ancient times, the tiger demon was praised by our family. When Junzo found out that the demon was eating our own people, he sealed the demon inside a baby boy. For generations the demon has been passes down to baby boys, but Kai was the first female to be born with the demon. The elders told my parents that our family has been cursed. They ordered to kill Kai.” Daichi looked at Kai. “My parents didn’t want that so they abandoned her here in Konoha and we ran away. For years I’ve been training so I can find her.”

“What about your parents?” Kakashi asked.

“The elders found out about what they did so they killed them. Now, they’re searching for Kai.” Daichi replied.

“Why?” Kakashi asked. Daichi looked at Kai and back at Kakashi. Concern was shown on his face.

“They want to kill her.”

Hello everyone! I know I haven’t been updating lately but I’ve been really busy. I’ve got basketball and school. :p BLAH! Well yeah, Chapter 9. Hope you like. I wasn’t really wanting. Anyway, I plan on updating “The Cold Run” sometime soon. Sorry that it’s short.
