I have been reading stories on this site for about two years now and have finally decided to share one of mine. This story was told to me by my mother and took place in approximately 1965 in Oliver, British Columbia, Canada.

My aunt, my mom's younger sister, was about 25 years of age and was babysitting for a friend of hers. My aunt brought her children with her, including my brother, who was about 12 at the time. It was a very small house and the living room was the main room with all the other rooms directly off the living room. If you were sitting on the couch, the front door was in plain view, as were all the other rooms.

My aunt had put all the kids to bed and was reading on the couch. It was a terribly stormy night with howling winds and rain. My aunt thought she heard a noise near the front door, but quickly dismissed it as due to the storm. From where she was sitting, she could directly see the basement door, which was partially open.

She noticed the basement light turn off, so she got a light bulb and went to replace it. As she got part way down the stairs, the light came back on. So she headed back up the stairs and sat down to continue reading. As soon as she sat down, though, the light went out again! She felt a little creepy and went and looked down the basement steps, not really wanting to go down there.

It was then that she heard a noise again near the front door. She stopped to listen to what sounded like a child crying outside of the front door. She was frozen in fear as she listened to the crying. She finally got up enough courage to open the door.

What she saw terrified her. It was her daughter, about 4 years old, who had been sleeping in the bedroom along with the other children! It was pouring rain out, but her daughter was completely dry and sobbing uncontrollably.

My aunt, absolutely terrified, asked her how she got outside, because the only way out of the room was through the front door, which my aunt had in full view the whole time.

When her daughter finally calmed down enough to talk, my aunt asked her again, "How did you get outside?" The words her daughter spoke has haunted my aunt her whole life. Her daughter told her, "The lady pulled me through the wall!" My aunt called my uncle to come and sit with her for the rest of the night and never stepped foot in that house again!
