"My ex-boyfriend from my junior year of high school just came over." She tried to say through her tears.

"Can I come in?" I asked.

She paused for a second. "Sure." She said then opened the door.

     "Bridget, what happened?"

     "We had a talk."

"What kind of talk?" I asked.

     "Just a little. . . yelling."

     "Why don't I believe that?"

     "We did yell. Believe me."

     "What did he say?"

"He wants me back. I don't want him back, Michael, but he wouldn't take no for an answer."

     "What happened?"

     "He hit me." She mumbled.

     "He what now?"

"I'm sorry." She said looking down.

"It's okay. It's not your fault. He shouldn't have hit you."

     "Michael, please don't tell anyone."

"Who can I tell? No one would hear me if I tried."

     "Thank you."

     "Did he do anything else?"

     "No. He just hit me."

"Next time, I want to be here for you. You can call for me; I'll hear you. That poster lets me hear you no matter where I am."

"What can you do, though? Wouldn't you be invisible?"

"Yes, but I would gladly take you out of the situation."

She hugged me. "Thank you so much for being here for me."

"Of course. One more question, where did he hit you?"

     "On the face."

"I'm definitely going to try to get here earlier. I'm so sorry."

"Yes, that would be nice. Thank you, Michael."

     "Of course."
