Verona 1957

Dear Juliet,

Angelo is waiting for me. We were supposed to meet under our favorite Cypress tree in Siena and run away together. My parents don't approve of our relationship, but I was willing to defy their wishes just to be with him. I didn't go through with our plans in the end because I was scared of losing everything I had ever known. I'm caught between choosing the man I love or living out the life my parents had planned for me. I return to England in three days to go back to university. Tell me what you think I should do Juliet.

Love,
Clarice

When I finished reading Clarice's letter, I envisioned a young woman who was afraid of the unknown. I think that's what gave me the confidence I needed to write back to her in the first place. I could relate to doing things in my life just to play it safe.

I know six decades have passed since Clarice wrote this letter to Juliet, but true love has no expiration date. She deserved a response, and I was happy that I got to be the one to give it to her.

A/N

I was way too excited to go another day without posting this. As soon as I have my cover, I will upload the next chapter. Love you all.
