"Lilac, over here!" Multiple cameras flashed as she stepped onto the red carpet with Damien in her slinky silver gown.

Lilac smiled and waved at photographers, who in turn blinded her. So far, this whole dating a celebrity thing sucked.

"Just keep smiling," Damien snapped when Lilac tried to walk away. She turned to glare at him, and in turn, he pinched her elbow to try and make her behave.

"I'm going inside," Lilac said with a perturbed tone. She turned and walked towards the theater that was showing Damien's new movie.

As she walked, girls pointed and screamed her name. By now, everyone either hated her, wanted to have sex with her, or wanted to be her. She hated how much attention she was getting for nothing. She stopped to take pictures with a few girls just for the hell of it and went inside.

Once inside, Samuel led Lilac to her seat. She was squished between Damien and Ryan Reynolds.

"The show hasn't even started and I wanna go home," Lilac said.

"Yeah, Damien's an ass." Samuel said, which earned a smile from Lilac. He smiled back, noting how beautiful she was when she smiled.

"So, entertain me," Lilac said, folding her hands in her lap. "Tell me about your childhood."

"Well," Sam cleared his throat, "I was born and raised in Indiana."

      "Was it like Pawnee?"

"No, unfortunately we didn't have a Ron Swanson or a Leslie Knope."

      "Awww," Lilac whined.

      "Sorry to disappoint."

      "It's okay. Tell me more."

Samuel chuckled. "Well, I grew up with four siblings. Two older sisters, two younger brothers. My oldest sister and my father died in a car accident when I was twelve, though."

Lilac looked up at Samuel with sympathy in her eyes. "Wow, that's awful. I'm so sorry, Samuel."

Samuel gave Lilac a soft smile. "It's okay. It was hard at first, but my family and I adjusted and we came out okay," he said. He cleared his throat. "Now, enough about me. What about you? You've never told me anything about you."

"Well, unlike you, I grew up in Tennessee," Lilac said.

"Oh, so you're a southerner?" Samuel said. "I'm gonna start calling you Southern Belle."

"Ew, no! That's such a cliché. Do I sound like I have an accent?" Lilac protested.

"Well, when you get riled up you do," Samuel said with a laugh. "Especially in Damien's presence. You definitely sound like you're from the south."

"Well, I sound like I'm a Bostonian sometimes, too, but that doesn't matter, now does it?" Lilac said with a bit of a pout. Samuel just laughed. "Lilac Carter, you are something else," he said.

"Well, you're a little shit," Lilac teased.

       "You sound like my mom."

"Wait, your mama actually called you a little shit?" Lilac queried. "Maybe that's why you're being so rude."

Samuel let out a big, hearty laugh that made Lilac's heart flutter. She couldn't help but notice how his eyes went from an earthy brown color to a bright green shade when he was happy.
