~Skylar's P.O.V~
The day goes by slow and I'm loaded with mounds of homework, and schools not even done yet.
I still have two more classes left and then I get to go home for the weekend.
My last two classes are Science and Gym.
Science wasn't really the one I was worried about, but I was worried about gym was.
Everyone knew I went to the hospital, but they never got a reason why.
I guess I'll have to tell them.
I think, but it just seems weird. I haven't told my own parents how bad my condition was, and now I would be telling my gym teacher.
Or maybe I wouldn't have to tell them. Maybe I can just go through gym and pretend that I was okay.
That's it, I'll just go through gym. Like the normal teenage girl I was. Like I haven't been in the hospital all weekend.
I'll just have to pretend until I tell my parents, and though I don't want to, I'll have to. For my sake at least.
I make my way to gym, from one hallway to the next.
Finally reaching the doors, I hesitantly reach for the door knob, but soon gather enough courage to open it and walk in.
I don't want to do this, but I know I have to.
I tell myself as I head towards the girls' locker room.
As I walk in, the room grows silent and everyone focuses their attention towards me.
"Okay everyone, hurry up, get changed and get out." Says my gym teacher, Mrs. Tamry.
Within seconds, everyone focuses their attention back to what they were doing moments before.
I start to walk towards my gym locker when I feel a tap on my shoulder.
Not expecting the small gesture, I jump a little but calm down just as quickly when I notice it's my teacher.
"Hello Skylar, we've missed you. Are you doing okay? Do you need to sit out in gym today?" Mrs. Tamry asks. Bombarding me with questions.
This is your last chance. Tell her!
I think, but think twice and shake my head.
"I'm good, but thanks for asking. I'll be fine." I answer and nod my head before walking to my locker to change.
After I do I make my way towards the door but check the lesson board to see what we're doing today.
Perfect.
I think. We're doing the mile run. On the first day, I get back, and we're doing the mile run.
This was just great.
~Cerise's P.O.V~
I sit in history, looking at the clock from time to time, while mindlessly writing down notes as the teacher drags on with her lesson.
I just want to go home. It's Friday and I just want to go home, relax and not think about the mounds of homework that I would have to do on my first week back.
I look up at the clock and notice that we are about fifteen minutes into class, when my teacher, Mrs. Hamilay, passes out a worksheet for us to do.
I start to work on the paper, not paying attention to anything around me.
Focusing on finishing the paper, I don't notice when someone walks into the classroom.
"Cerise Thatcher?" Says the person and when I finally look up, I notice everyone staring at me.
I can feel my face grow red and my palms get Sweaty as I raise my hand.
"We need you in the office. I'll explain on the way." Says the student assistant, and I get up.
I was about to walk over when she told me I would need my stuff.
I gather all my things, and walk out of the classroom, along with the student assistant.
"It's about your sister." She begins and I already start to figure out where this is heading.
"She didn't tell anyone how bad her condition was, and decided it would be okay to run the mile, but she didn't make it far without having an attack. Luckily, they were able to get to her inhaler before she went out." She explains and all I can do is shake my head.
I should've told Mom and Dad. I knew I should've. If I told them, we could've prevented all of this.
We walk into the principal's office and I am not greeted with him, but Mom, Dad, and Skylar.
"I'll let you all talk in peace." Says the student assistant, as she closes the door behind her.
"Okay, well welcome Mr. and Mrs. Thatcher, we are here today for the events that happened today that involved Mrs. Skylar." Principal Crimson says and I turn to look at Skylar to find her looking at me.
"We just wanted to tell you what was going on and what happened with Skylar today in gym." Mr. Crimson says and my parents nod their heads.
As they continue to talk, I just move deeper into the chair, hoping it would just swallow me whole.
I felt guilty. I knew I should've told them, but I ignored my gut and listened to my sister.
"Cerise? Did you know about Skylar's Condition?" Mom asks, dragging me out of my thoughts.
"I... uh..." I begin, but stutter in the process.
"Cerise..." My Dad begins, and as I was about to answer, but Skylar steps in.
"She didn't know. I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to go back to the hospital. I'm sorry." She says and I give her a confused look.
"Why would she lie?" I ask and she gives me a small nod, before directing her attention back to our parents.
"Sky, it's not us you should be worried about, you should be worrying about your health. I'm sorry, I know you don't want to go back, but you know what the doctor said. Thank you, Mr. Crimson for calling us to come. Now let's go to the hospital. Goodbye, and thank you once again." Mom says and we all stand up to walk out.
This was it. She was going back, and there was nothing I could do.
