Dorothy is a young and beautiful country girl,
She has beautiful eyes and a skin as white as pearl
She loves singing and dancing with a twirl
At times she even plays with a small squirrel.
She is an orphan with a positive attitude,
She fills her life with much gratitude.
At times when she finds herself in deep solitude,
She thinks of the future with great fortitude.
She studied hard to achieve excellence.
She grew in knowledge and great eloquence.
She lives her life without any pretense.
She tirelessly works hard with great patience.
There are times when she wonders about her parents,
What is life with a mother, father and grandparents?
But her life is different and that is very apparent
She decides to make the most of what is present.
The time has come to live her beloved village
Time to spread her wings, she is in the right age.
She got a scholarship, she has been thoroughly gauge
Her life is promising, ready to start a new page.
The life in the city is a roller coaster ride,
The buildings are different from her beloved countryside.
Most of the times she feels deeply petrified.
She needs to be strong and rise above the tide.
