Wednesday 4th January 2017:
That morning, Oka woke up and looked around the unfamiliar room. It took her a moment to remember she had stayed the night at Budo's house. She looked down at the space where Budo was sleeping, and saw an empty sleeping bag.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty." Budo grinned as he entered the room carrying a tray. She sat up and smiled at him.
"M-morning Budo." She said. He placed the tray on her lap and sat down at his desk. On the tray was a plate of pancakes, a small pot of syrup, and a cup of hot tea. She looked at him a little confused
"I made you breakfast in bed. I already had mine, so don't worry about me ok?" She nodded her head and started pouring some syrup on her pancakes. "Don't worry about eating quick, it's only 6:15." She nodded her head and put a piece of pancake in her mouth. He stood up and headed out of the room so she could eat in peace. They walked to school together, with Budo holding Oka's and Osoro's bags, after yesterday with Osoro he offered immediately. She was the only student in school who could easily beat him. She had decided to join the pair on their walk to school.
"So, what happened last night?" Osoro asked, her face stone cold as she didn't make eye contact with either Oka or Budo. Oka shrugged her shoulders lightly.
"We... We studied and... I stayed the night." She stuttered shyly. Osoro raised an eyebrow as she looked at her.
"Nothing happened, though." Budo immediately added. He knew what she was thinking, and wanted to set the record straight.
"Y-yeah." Oka agreed as she looked up into Osoro's eyes. She was silent for a moment before nodding her head, believing the pair."What happened last night?" Shin asked the second she walked into the occult club room. "I waited for you so we could walk to school together." She lightly shrugged her shoulders, deciding against telling him what happened. She knew he would be furious if he knew she had spent the night at Budo's.
"I... I just left early this morning. Sorry for not telling you." She said, looking down at her shoes sadly hoping to get sympathy. She could tell he was annoyed.
"That didn't answer my other question. What happened at Budo's?" He persisted. She shrugged her shoulders again.
"We worked on the project then I walked myself home." She said, not telling him about staying the night. He didn't seem to believe her, but didn't ask her anything else. He put his arms around her and sighed."So, wait. Budo Masuta, the ultimate fuckboy, had a girl at his house... And nothing happened?" Sho asked in clear disbelief. Budo rolled his eyes and sighed.
"Yes. Nothing happened between me and Oka, ok?" He snapped, hoping people would stop asking. He was met with the stares of his friends who clearly didn't believe him. He walked away from the group, closely followed by Mina.
"I believe you." Budo stopped and turned around to face his closest friend. "I know you wouldn't try something if she was uncomfortable, she means to much to you." Budo smiled a little. Finally someone believed him. "So... Are you planning to confess to her Friday under the cherry blossom tree?" She continued as they walked aimlessly around school. He shook his head.
"No. I don't really believe in that myth. Also, I don't know if she'll accept my feelings." He sighed, scared by the thought of rejection.
"She will." Mina reassured him, rubbing his shoulder. He looked at her and smiled weakly. "She'd be crazy to reject you."That afternoon, Budo found himself at the incinerator by where the delinquents usually go to skip class. He saw Osoro having a conversation with a couple of girls and decided to talk to her.
"Osoro!" He yelled, successfully gaining her attention. She left the group and walked over to him.
"What do you want?" She snapped, looking down at him. He looked up at her and took a deep breath.
"Why are you being so nice to Oka?" He asked, surprising the delinquent. "You're so mean to everyone else, it just doesn't make sense." Osoro simply laughed and shook her head.
"That's none of your business." She growled. She turned and walked back to her group while Budo remained frozen in place. That night, Osoro sat in her room by herself with a bottle of cheap beer in her hand. She had been unable to sleep, the only person on her mind was Oka. She had fallen head over heels in love for the occult club president. She took a swig from her bottle, downing the liquid inside. She threw the bottle out the window and listened as it shattered on impact. She looked out the window at the empty night sky, void of stars.
"Oka..." She muttered, the smaller girl occupying her mind. "Would you accept a love confession from me? Or do you care more about that fuckboy?" She asked herself, closing her eyes for a moment. She really didn't want to lose Oka to Budo. She didn't think he deserved her. She smiled as she made a decision. "I'm going to confess my love to her next Friday."
