A Wanderer among the stars

Prologue

Far in the distant future
After the the great war and the major scientific revolution, humanity united under one species forming a great Civilization that went beyond earth, formed colonies in all our solar system,
Never before humans were living as one nation, and the achievements that this event, are countless
But, they weren't satisfied with only settling in this system, but they seek more...
During this era
A human was born, in a world full of opportunities, he grew up feeding his curiosity, as his father was an astronaut, and an explorer of the nearby planets, so he had a role view
To be like he's father
When he was eighteen
His father was called for an exploration mission
His father told him
"My Son, aim for the stars"
Unfortunately, that's the last time he saw his lovely father
in a young age
He lost his main, but he died doing he loves, exploring the Unknown
This young man soon grew up pursuing his studies, he succeeded
He really loved science, and it was the only thing important in his life
After finishing his studies
He got accepted by the national earth's space center, for driving huge ships through the solar system, few years later, the ENSC (earth's national space center) started working on new ships, they are no ordinary ships
These marked the beginning of interstellar exploration
The thing about these vessels, is they use small fusion cores that can be controlled, and they Travel using a technique that pushes the ship beyond the speed of light
Now they were building the first one ever, and they had to try it
As the ENSC workers were looking for special pilots and astronauts whom can pilot this ship
And go for the first mission outside the solar system to explore other planets and expand the human civilization
And here begins my story, of chasing the stars
Few months stress training, and virtual simulations, i was ready to drive the beast, it was time for meeting it in person
As the personal escorting me for the most moment moment in the history of our species and also my life
Opening the gates, i saw it
Its ... magnificent, beautiful, and huge in a way
I stood there for some minutes looking at it
And thinking
"This thing is my new home..."
The men stopped walking, looking at me with a bright smile, meaning that from now on, I'm on my own
I opened the stairs
And climbed the ship now, they slowly pushed it out of the hangar
And the that scene filled my heart with joy
Seeing millions of humans waving and chanting, all raising the flags of humanity
An astonishing moment, it filled me with confidence
Is it a fact or i have dreamed that with this mission my life will change forever
it's time for the glory, the countdown started, and all i had to do is press a button
nobody could stop me in that moment, it was all under my command
as the countdown stopped, i flew up, and reached the outer space.
