Amelia didn't know what was happening. It was like she was an apparition watching a scene. The most bizarre thing was, was that she was in this scene that was playing right before her very eyes. Except she was much older, they all were much older.
Amelia swallowed the huge lump in her throat as she stood off to the side. Looking on, but not knowing what to say to stop all this. "Well look I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand. What part of this isn't living up to your expectations?" Harry exclaims shoving past Danielle who moved to be a barrier between him and Ron. Danielle gave up and just moved over to Amelia and Hermione, watching on like them. "Did you think we would be staying at a five star hotel? Finding a Horcrux every other day? You thought you would be back with your mum by Christmas?" Ron takes a moment to just glare at Harry, as his words sink in. "I just thought after all this time we would have actually achieved something! I thought you knew what you were doing, I thought Dumbledore would have told you something."
"Look, it's been a long week that's all, everyone just needs to calm down." Amelia tried to interject, hoping they both would realize they were being ridiculous. "I told you everything Dumbledore told me!" Harry said gesturing wildly with his hands. Hermione moved to take the Horcrux from around Ron's neck. "Ron please take it off, you wouldn't be saying any of this if you hadn't been wearing it all day." He pushed her hands away, without even looking her in the eye. "Do you know why I listen to that radio every night?" Ron was visibly shaking. "To make sure I don't hear Ginny's name, or Fred," he said the last part vindictively towards Amelia. "Or George, or mum, hell even Percy."
"Oh so you don't think I know how this feels?" Harry yelled making all three of the girls flinch. "No you don't know how this feels! Your parents are dead! You have no family!"
The moment those words were said Harry launched towards Ron. They struggled for a few moments shoving each other around before Danielle ripped Ron back and Amelia jumped in between them. "Stop it! This is ridiculous!" She screamed watching her two closest friends fight like this. "Go then!" Harry shouted pressing against Amelia in an effort to get to Ron. Ron ripped the necklace off of his neck and threw it on the ground. He gathered up his things as Amelia watched in shock, was he actually going to leave? "And you two?"
Amelia blinked in surprise, he was looking directly at her and Hermione. How could she ever make the choice between them? Harry needed her, they needed to end this. She couldn't just leave him. Ron noticed her hesitancy. "Wow. Never in a million years, would I have thought a girl I considered my sister would choose Harry Potter over me."
Those words struck her right in her chest. Her stomach turned to water as he walked out. Hermione chased after him, screaming his name. "Where are you going?" Amelia demanded, her voice cracking with emotion. Danielle had grabbed up all of her stuff and was heading out of the tent. "Someone has to go with him, and make sure he doesn't get himself killed." She said with irritation at this whole situation. When she was gone, and Hermione was sobbing outside of the tent Harry walked up to Amelia. She hadn't moved since Ron left, she stayed in the same place- silent tears falling down her face. Harry wrapped his arms around her, and she stifled a sob. This was going to be even harder now that Ron and Danielle were gone.
The scene in front of her, shredded to pieces. It curved and changed into something completely new. She looked the same, Amelia realized. Except for the bruises on her arms and her chest and her hair which was matted with blood. The older Amelia stood in rubble. With a gasp, she came to the conclusion that she was standing in the court yard of a destroyed Hogwarts. Shadowy figures pooled into the court yard from the opposite side. Amelia stumbled as she continued to walk forward, her legs were weak and wobbly, her eyes growing wide from the sight in front of her. She didn't need to alert anybody that they were here. They already knew. She felt people filing in behind her, everyone was exhausted but eager to see what was going on. Amelia peered into the short distance, no it couldn't be- who was that? She was ahead of everybody, but dared not to get too close. She had to find out who that was, and it didn't take long for it all to click. Of course she would be with them, she was the perfect leverage. Semira's black hair curled with the wind, and her face was tear stained. Her eyes, empty and tired, met Amelia's from across the wrecked courtyard. She hadn't seen her since- Amelia's heart sped up. She thought her heart would burst out of her chest, the way it was pounding so much. Amelia's eyes trained on the pale white hand, wrapped around her best friends throat. It was crazy to think, one squeeze from that hand could shatter Amelia's entire world.
