The Story Behind the Story

There was a day I went to a thrift shop and saw these gorgeous, brand new pair of blue suede shoes for a toddler. They were adorable and I couldn't resist showing them to my father. He laughed and said, "We need to get you some blue suede shoes." He, jokingly, was hinting towards a more Elvis Presley kind of pair but I thought of how uncommon you see a unique pair of shoes. I created a character and of course a friend/love-interest named Elliote and Charles. Before they were granted their names, I constructed a poem about them and their journey, during the car ride home from the shop, with blue suede shoes tying them together. I became obsessed with the plot/poem/ideas so I began writing a short. Thus, was made, The Boy and The Girl in Blue Suede Shoes. I hope you enjoyed reading this short as much as I enjoyed writing it. All my love.
