Hi my lovelies! I think I'm going to start having my little author notes at the beginning just because I feel like you guys are more likely to read them if they're up here rather than down below.
I know this isn't my usual Wednesday update but I am sitting alone at home and doing nothing and I was like 'hey, maybe my readers are doing the same thing or they need a pick-me-up' so here you go!
Sorry this is a filler but I wanted you to see how life is for Liv when she's at the Ark, and you guys get to meet Wick, who is one of my favs!!
oh, and in case you were wondering, I imagine Liv's dad as Timothy Olyphant and her mom as Carla Gugino! I added their pics in case you have no idea who they are!
alright, enjoy!!
_______________
The remnants of the past day come back to me in bits and pieces. Physical therapy with Raven, Abby taking the blame for the crime that I committed, and finally, me being shock lashed as punishment. At the last memory, my hand skims down my back and rests on the three burn wounds that are embedded in my skin. They're sore to the touch, and have pain-relieving ointment on them that Abby found in the wreckage. My entire body throbs with pain, but I'm so used to it now that it's more of a dull ache. I guess I've finally reached my pain tolerance.
"How are you feeling?" A voice echoed through the quiet room, and I didn't have to look to know that it was Abby. Still, I gently lifted my head to see her standing a few feet away.
"Fine," I lied and pushed myself to sit up a little higher. "Where's my parents?"
"Your mother is back in her quarters, and your father is meeting with Kane," she replied while writing something down on a clip board.
At the mention of my father, I grimaced in discomfort. I guess that little piece of information seemed to slip my mind in my drunken slumber. Not only was I shock lashed, but I was done so by my father, by the command of his best friend, Kane.
As if reading my thoughts, Abby rounded the table to stand above me. "He wanted me to tell you that he's sorry. And he loves you."
"I need to go see him," I declared and tried to sit up, but my body felt like it was made of lead. I collapsed in exhaustion and covered my face with my hands, groaning in frustration. "Correction, I need your help."
"He's busy with Kane," Abby explained and put a gentle hand on my arm. "I'm sure that you'll be able to see him later. For now, you're staying put."
"I can't stay here," I admitted and removed my hands. "I'm tired of being useless and not being able to do anything. Bellamy's out there looking for the others, who could be dead by now, and I'm in this damn camp with as much worth as a rock. Please, Abby. I have to do something or I'll go crazy."
"I just released Raven to work. You could join her, blow of a little steam in engineering," she offered, trying her best to make me feel better. "I'll tell Sinclair to put you in the system. He'll be thrilled to have someone to teach."
"Sign me up," I decided and used all my strength to sit up. It took a lot of time and effort, but I was able to use the only non-injured part on my body, which seemed to be my arms, to push myself up. Abby looked impressed to see that I had done it on my own, and mumbled something about how I was recovering quicker than normal. Maybe my luck was turning out for the better.
"I want to see you back here tonight," she ordered as I slowly but surely made my way towards the door. "Your wounds aren't completely healed," she raised her voice as I walked outside, and I nodded my head to let her know that I had heard her.
