Chapter 2 ~Save You Tonight~

It was hard to concentrate on what my family was saying when One Direction was sitting less than three feet away from me. Especially because Harry kept sending me looks that made me blush. My father, who was sitting across from me, kept sending him warning looks that read ‘If you hurt her, I’ll kill you.’

“So I met some guys today who are making this band and they asked me to join them!” My brother announced after we’d ordered.

“That’s great! See? I told you things would work out,” my father reached diagonally across the table to high five Noah.

“Yeah, considering Little Miss Sunshine over here is the reason I had to leave the last one.” Leave it to Noah to turn a happy night into an angry one. I looked down at my hands and everyone went silent for a while. I could feel Harry, Zayn, Niall, Louis and Liam watching me.  “I mean it’s not like I had a life back home or anything. It’s not like we lived in the one city that could have actually gotten me somewhere.” He continued.

The reason we’d moved to London was for me. I loved to sing and there was a program here that my parents thought would be good for me. I agreed with Noah though, it was drastic. I could have moved on my own since I’m now eighteen. It was weird. They were very convinced about moving. Almost like something was forcing them.

“Noah.” My mother shushed him.

“I mean she can’t even sing. She isn’t as good as you two make her out to be. She’s actually pretty terrible. Not to mention she could have moved on her own! She’s old enough to live alone now. Why did we have to come too? It’s not like she’s actually gonna become someone someday anyways!” Noah ignored my mother. I wondered how long he’d been waiting to say those words.

I was horribly embarrassing, considering a major boy band was sitting next to us. My head started to pound and my stomach started to hurt. I looked next to me at my brother who wouldn’t even look at me. No one disagreed with him and it made me feel sicker.

“Are you okay, Emi?” My mother asked me, breaking the ice. “I’m sure your brother didn’t mean anything by it –“

“I’m actually just going to go and get some fresh air.” I interrupted and stood up.

“Are you sure?” My father asked.

“Yeah, I’m not really feeling that great.” I turned away and didn’t make eye contact with anyone from One Direction. Out of the corner of my eye I saw them give each other looks as soon as I’d said I wasn’t feeling well.

I got outside and leaned against the wall Harry and I were just standing at. The cold bit at my skin but I barely noticed. All I could think about was the pain I was feeling. I wasn’t sure where it’d come from but it felt like my insides were ripping themselves apart. I groaned and gripped my head, squeezing my eyes shut.

A large hand shot out, grabbing my shoulder as I doubled over in pain. If I didn’t know any better I’d of thought I was being repeatedly stabbed in the stomach.

“It’s okay, you’re okay.” Harry whispered. “Milee, what time were you born?” What a random question. I answered anyways.

“7:37pm, why?” I didn’t get an answer.
