I have noticed this-historical fiction- isn't a very popular genre,maybe because most people have enough history at school already.I've only read a couple of books like these and this is one of my favorites.
I really like books with strong female lead, I feel they help out feminism a bit and box out of the "Wattpad comfort zone", and this genre features a lot of it which gives the usual classical writing a fun twist.
Lady Juliette Van Helsing is no ordinary blushing Lady of the Society. As the first Lady Knight of Monrique, she regularly deals with cases, criminals and knaves of all sorts who threaten the peace and security of her country. When a string of brutal murders among the nobility take place in quick succession, leaving behind one puzzle after another, she begins a race against time to find the murderer.
However, when it becomes clear that the murderer is aiming for the Crown Prince of Monrique - the very man whom she had despised since childhood - the Lady Knight knows she that has to put aside all her hatred for this man and work towards protecting him to the best of her ability.
Along the way, webs of lies, betrayals and greed are unraveled, and at each turn, she finds her old beliefs and assumptions being questioned. In the midst of all of this chaos, will she be able to fulfill her duty, and mayhap, find love?
