Nico X Maki

Chapter 1: A suspicion

Nico had just finished her busy day, all of today was spent on exams, so she was pretty tired out after school.
She noticed Maki sitting silently in the corner of the huge playground of Otonazaki, on a bench. She couldn't help but notice how cute she looked and Nico was oblivious to the fact that she was blushing and had an acute smile on her face.

"Nico! Nico!", someone screamed, running towards Nico like lightning. Nico was mesmerised though, she couldn't care less what was happening around her.
"Nico, you baka!" The person that was yelling for Nico finally reached her destination.
"Nico! Ni-eh?" Nico swiftly turned around, shocked, finally bought back to reality.
"Nozomi!? What are you doing here!?" Nico felt so embarrassed you would have thought Nozomi just caught her kissing Maki!
"I'm only here to give you the homework you left in class, it's due in for tomorrow, you baka! -3- you're welcome." Nico reached for the paper trying to resist looking at what Maki was doing, the moment painfully dragged on.
"Th-thanks! Y-you're a life saver...hehe...", Nico nervously laughed
"Well, see you tomorrow...!...Umm, heh", Nozomi trailed off.
"Nozomi? You trying to hide something from me..?", Nico couldn't help but ask.
"what!? N-no....I noticed you looking at Maki!", Nozomi blurted out.
"Eh!? N-nothing's going on! No! No..", Nico quickly shouted, she didn't notice her sudden raise in volume.
Then there was silence.

No one was talking. No one was going to talk. Nico thought it was best to keep it silent before Nozomi started 'getting curious' about everything. Nico swivelled round and started running towards Maki, she never looked back at Nozomi, who she guesses was making her way home with Eli by now. Nico didn't realise how close she was to Maki, they were close enough for Maki to notice Nico now. Nico felt like she had no choice but to go and talk to her. She made sure that Nozomi or any other of the girls weren't looking, then she dived in and sat next to Maki.
