As Dylan wondered through the woods, his clumsiness caused him to trip over a twig. "This sure does bring back memories." He got up, scraping the leaves off of his now-torn jeans. The breeze of the bushes created a sound. The sound was intriguing. However, Dylan ignored it.
The noise was heard again. "H-hello?" The shakiness of his voice frightened himself more. Why am I so scared? I am never scared..."Is it because this place brings back memories" A voice...inside my head? B-but it wasn't mine...
"WHO ARE YOU!?" Dylan yelled, frightened of who that voice belonged to.
"Don't worry... I am not here to harm anybody." Dylan wasn't convinced of that being true. "So what do you want?" Dylan asked, a little more calm.
"Eight years ago...you lost a friend. Is that correct, sir?" Dylan glared at the ground as small tears tried to make their way out. He nodded, slowly.
"Well your friend is still alive. I can guarantee that." Dylan's eyes jolted open as one tear managed to flee his eyelids. He stared at nothing. Everything seem to just disappear. Dylan was too in shock.
"YOUR LYING!" Dylan cried out in denial. He fell to his knees while his mind went hay-wire. He grasped his head with his cold fingers as more and more tears crawled out in escape. "SHE'S DEAD! THEY FOUND HER BONES! HER BLOOD WAS ON IT!"
"Dylan..." the voiced whispered. "She never died. Your Friend is safe. I can take you to her."
Dylan was breaking down piece by piece. This is a trap. It has to be. Evelyn. She is dead. I just know it. These thoughts barricaded his mind.
"Dylan. It's okay!"
"I'm here..." Another voice. Dylan's eyes stopped tearing up. "Evelyn..." He whispered her name so soft that it could melt even through the hardest stone.
