Bright Walls. Bright People?

I paint walls with bright shades of yellow, layered upon blue.
I step in colored mud, with ten year old shoes.
I down my eyes in colors of light, so my face will look pleasant,
"I'm just alright",
but my lemon peel walls can peel.
My sacred rainbow feet may one day meet the mud I kept so far.
My eyes will dampen once they tear from the color I soak them in.
I don't think my colors knew what they were supposed to do.
They didn't know they were supposed to protect me from myself just as strongly as they'd protect me from the world.

My power's sore of purple.
My violet shades are violent.
With my eyes red and blue..
I knew I must tell the truth.
