"Dude where are you?" Tyler's
concerned voice came quick
through the phone when I
answered his call.

"Walking around." I shrugged
with a bored tone.

"Josh please come to the
house." he sighed.

"I'll be there in a bit.
I just wanted to be alone
for a while.
I miss her man." I stopped and
leaned on the brick wall.
I had kept everything in for all
this time and now the tears were
pushing themselves out.

"Where are you?
I'll come get you."

"I'm by the cafe that me and
Caitlyn used to come to."

"Ok stay there Josh, I'm coming."
I heard his keys rattle on the
other side of the phone line
before he hung up.
I walked to the curb of the
street and sat there.
I put my hand in my face and
just let myself fall apart.

"Men don't cry"... bullshit.

I sobbed quietly into my hands
and thought about how messed
up everything was.
Sure I had made my life in a new
state and I was getting more
money and making a living for
myself but that's not what I
wanted the most.

"Josh?" I'd never been so happy
to hear my best friend's voice.
I stood up immediately and
hugged Tyler with no shame.
I cried into his shoulder for a
good minute before letting go
to wipe my face.

"I'm sorry." I sniffled.

"No, no don't apologize.
I get that you're hurting." he
rubbed my back comfortingly.

"It's just that I loved her so much
Tyler, I still do.
She made me feel less lonely
and we had a rough start but
that's the happiest I remember
being in a long time."

"Get her back then." Tyler
made it sound so simple but
I knew that wasn't the case.

"Tyler, you know I can't.
Her parents are insane.
Plus I leave in a week Ty, how
and I supposed to win back
the girl of my dreams, who
currently hates me, in one
week especially when she has
a boyfriend already?"

"Ugh, I don't know man.
I'm sorry, I'm really trying
to think of something but
you just made it sound even
more difficult than I had
originally thought it." he rubbed
his temple and shut his eyes
tightly as a sigh escaped his lips.

"I just want to sleep.
Can we go home Ty?"

"Yeah man, let's go." he patted
my shoulder and we walked
to the car.

When I woke up from my
five hour long nap, I heard
everyone talking downstairs.
Yup, I slept for most of the
day but I didn't care at this point.
I headed down there and saw
that everyone was pitching in
on helping make dinner.

"Morning Joshua," Cait
smiled at me before wrapping
he arms around me.

"How'd you sleep?" she asked
once she pulled away.

"It was great actually.
I really needed it." I gave her
a weak half smile.

"Want to help us attempt
to make dinner?" she giggled.

"Sure.
Who else is here?"

"It's Brendon, Jenna, Tyler,
Dallon, and I.
That's it." she shrugged as we
began to walk to the kitchen.

"Surprised Sarah isn't here."
I chuckled, thinking of how
inseparable Brendon and his
girlfriend were.

"Brendon set up a spa day
for her and her friends so
he came over while she's
doing that."

"That's cute." I chuckled again.

"Josh!" Brendon ran over to
give me a hug.

"I don't like how you're always
all up on my man Urie." Tyler
sassed as he held Jenna's waist.

"Jeez Brendon, don't you know
any better than to get between
Tyler and his man?" Jenna said
sarcastically while waving her
finger around for emphasis.

"I love you." Tyler smiled down
at his fiancé before planting
a gentle kiss on her lips.
I was almost jealous of the
amazing relationship they had.
That's what I wanted and only
with one person but I couldn't
have that person.
I shook off my sad, mopey
feeling and decided to ask what
we were all doing for dinner.

"We're attempting to do pot roast
with vegetables and potato
wedges but none of us know
what we're doing." Jenna laughed.

"I don't know why you guys
are struggling so much." Brendon
laughed at the group in the kitchen.

"Oh shut up Brendon, you gave
up ten minutes ago and warmed
up pizza rolls." Dallon retorted.

"Psht, whatever." Brendon rolled
his eyes and everyone laughed,
including me.

I may have been down in the
dumps, but I realized I had great
people around me that I would
only get to see for another week.
I was going to do everything
in my power to enjoy them
while I still could.
