Lucius's POV

She rode on the back of her stallion Blaze, a solid black pure breed from the Arabian deserts. I couldn't help but smile seeing her hunched close to his body as her hands held tightly to the reins. She never used a saddle, 'too heavy' she once stated. I strode faster making sure to keep her from getting lost.... still i couldn't help but feel possessive over her, i didn't want her anywhere near that damn creature. Nervous about losing the fox? I growled angrily my eyes casting glances to the trees. just what is your obsession with us crow? No obsession, simply returning to my master when i sensed your presence nearby.... good luck with the puppet. I rolled my eyes casting his words aside. I could sense the presence of the puppet nearby and I quickly stopped holding up my hand. The horse neighed as she pulled the reins.

"What is it Lucius...."

"I can sense the puppet master nearby. We must be getting closer to the tower."

"Must be? I thought you got directions from Michaelis?"

"I did but seeing as the timeline was nearly 3 years ago the terrain has changed. The bridge is no longer here since it collapsed from age."

I could see her looking around searching for signs of an abandoned tower. She dismounted and began leading Blaze by the reigns. The sky may have streaks of light streaming through but darkness would be falling soon as the sun was setting in the distance.

Back in the office, 5 hours earlier

Jade had a map spread out on the desk and was plotting a trail to the tower. "So the tower is somewhere in this area according to Michaelis." I nodded in agreement but gestured to where a bridge would be. "Yes, however we will not have the same landmarks, this river had a bridge at some point." Jade held her chin in thought. I had managed to get her to let the laces be loose until we left for our mission. I couldn't help but smile and kneel kissing her protruding stomach. This seemed to confuse her as she let out a small giggle. "What are you doing?"
I smiled up at her my hands holding her precious belly. "I'm kissing my child, I couldn't help myself." She gently pet my head smiling down at me. "I can't tell who's more anxious... you or the baby." I smiled with pride kissing her stomach once again and whispering softly to my growing child. Soon my darling one... soon.

Present

"How much farther..."

I looked around slowly and then felt his presence coming from the east. I took the reigns after placing her back atop Blaze. I smiled at her as I led Blaze towards the abandoned tower.... i just hoped that I would be able to return her back home.

Jade's POV

My eyes widened as we left the heavily forested area, the building growing in size the more we left the forest. It... it couldn't be. This was the building I saw in my dream, the one Elsie led me to. I felt Lucius bring me down from Blaze and I found myself walking closer to the tower. My steps stopping short of the great wooden door before me. The cracking stones showing decay as great vines wrapped themselves up the immense height of this old tower. I stared at the iron handles my fingers inching closer and closer. My heart pounding rapidly in my chest as I felt the same sense of curiosity and fear as I did when I followed the young girl before...

"My lady, please let me enter the building first."

I gripped the handle my eyes narrowing on the door itself. I pushed it open quickly drawing my pistol holding it up ready to shoot anything posing a potential threat. Lucius tied Blaze's lead to a nearby tree and followed me inside. I stepped cautiously my eyes staring at emotionless statues. So many of them posed like armored knights in an old castle. I didn't recognize most of them, that was until I saw a doll all too familiar to me. I lowered my gun staring at a lifesize doll of my spectre from my dream..... Isabella Fitch, the ninth girl to go missing when i worked the case. I had to tell the queen that these girls had been killed and that their bodies were burned to ashes by the kidnappers. I spent the time going door to door to each family giving my condolences and returning what small trinkets I could manage to secure to give these families a sense of closure. Now I stared at the lost daughter of the Fitch family, dressed in a beautiful gown her skin pale like porcelain and her eyes dead and hollow with the empty gleam of glass. I looked to the other side of this long corridor of corpses and noticed the sequential dolls resembling each girl from my file.
