Why does heartbreak give us insight into the world?
What is different today than any other?
I've been screaming help me for what seems like forever.
Everyone lives their lives with fingers plugging their ears.
They do not want to hear about my tragedy,
For it reminds them of their own.
How heavy a burden to feel this much at nineteen;
My two decades of innocence are gone, gone, gone.
With loss comes pain, with pain comes revelation,
With revelation comes wisdom, with wisdom comes...
I haven't figured that last one out just yet.
I will wake myself when I do.
I just keep telling myself: it's just one of those days.
It will come and go like any other.
Meet the new one with poise and dignity,
Not crying mascara onto your bathroom floor.
It will pass.
