Katie bounced in her seat, watching as data flittered across her screen. "All this data was obtained from the Galra ship we fought?"

"Yes. We sifted through it all, but we didn't understand much without you." Allura explained. "Then, as we went through the prisoner records, Shiro immediately recognized your father. We translated what we could and found that that ship had just delivered him to a prison on a planet named Dunlorn. Its system is just a quintent's trip without a wormhole."

"Then wormhole there!" Katie shouted as she stood. "We have to get to my father!"

Allura sighed and placed her hand on Katie's shoulder. "I would love to, Pidge. However, the castle need repairs. We can't attack the prison until the ship is fully restored. Your lion is also still being repaired by Coran and Hunk.

The green paladin huffed and crossed her arms. "I still don't understand why I can't help. She's my lion."

The princess only smiled and shook her head. ""We'll rescue your father, Pidge. You'll see him again." Katie smiled, her eyes downcast.

Katie swung her legs as she sat on her table, typing away at her laptop. She then looked up with a grin as Hunk sauntered over. "You know what would make the repairs go quicker?" The yellow paladin groaned and slumped, then muttered, 'what?' under his breath. Katie snickered and poked his belly. "A third set of perfectly capable, quick hands." She held up her hands and wiggled her fingers at him.

Hunk sighed and shook his head. "No, Pidge. You may find something you want to 'upgrade' and it'll take longer to fix. All we're doing is repairs. Coran and I are almost done."

The green paladin huffed and pouted, closing her laptop. "I am perfectly capable of holding myself back from trying to upgrade and invent. She's my lion, I wanna help. I have nothing else to do. I have no more parts necessary for any of my current works and we're floating in space. Can't exactly go running around outside."

The yellow paladin chuckled and ruffled her hair. "Go find Lance, tell him Keith said something about him, then sit back and watch the show."

Katie's amber eyes lit up and she leapt of the table. "Best idea ever!" She shouted and darted out, off to find the blue paladin.

She hummed and peeked around corners she passed, listening for Lance. That is, until she bumped right into a firm chest.

"Wow. You are talented." Shiro chuckled as she looked up at him, pink tinting her cheeks. "I was standing here, minding my own business in a hallway big enough for seven people to walk in a row and you still manage to run directly into me." He teased, plucking of her glasses.

"Hey!" Katie yelped, reaching up for the glasses. "Matt's gonna kill you if you break those, ya know!" She shouted, placing her hands on her hips. "They aren't mine, they're still his."

Shiro hummed and leaned over to be more eye level with her. "Then why do you still wear them? They're prescription, you could ruin your eyes."

Katie smirked and raised her chin. "Those aren't prescription lenses. I knew better than to screw up my eyes. I popped the prescription lenses out and put those ones in."

The black paladin stood straight, brows raising. "Are you sure I'm going to be the one Matt kills?"

She huffed and rolled her eyes. "I have the prescription lenses with me. I could easily pop them right back in. Good as new."

Shiro chuckled and shook his head. "Katie, you are a being to behold." Katie grinned and nodded firmly. "Well, since we're going to be bringing your father on board, don't you think he should get a room?" Katie tilted her head and took back the glasses as he held them out to her. "Want to help me set up one of the room for him?"

"Yes!" Katie shouted, her eyes sparkling gleefully. Shiro smiled, holding his hand up for her. She quickly grabbed his hand and tugged him along. "Come on, no time to waste!"

~

It was so innocent and playful. They were fixing up a room for Samuel Holt, teasing each other and occasionally playing. She snuck a kiss on his cheek and he threw the pillow at her. That's how it started.

Katie shouted as the pillow, collided with the back of her head and Shiro tried to smother his laughter behind his hand. "You asked for it!" She yelled, tackling him.

"Whoa!" Shiro lost his balance and fell back onto the bed, Katie triumphantly pinning him down.

A large grin split her face and she cheered. "Gotchya! I win!"

Shiro raised a brow, propping himself up on his elbows. "And why are you so sure?"

Katie crossed her arms and, looked down at him with a smirk. "Because I got you pinned. Man down." She declared. "Surrender for resistance is futile." Katie snickered.

"I won't be surrendering anytime soon." Shiro raised his chin. Katie raised a brow. "I haven't lost quite yet."

"You sure?" Katie snorted and gestured to them both. "I kinda got you all defenseless and cornered."

Shiro smirked, raising one hand. He supported himself on his Galran prosthetic. "I've got one more secret weapon saved just for this kind of situation." Katie gasped as his fingers tangled in her hair and she was pulled down. Her amber eyes shot wide open as she now lay on top of him, her hands the only things keeping their chests from touching. "I have no choice but to use this secret weapon." Shiro stated, leading her down, closer to himself. Their breaths mingled, eyes focused on the other.

Katie's heart leapt and Shiro gulped. Her eyes fluttered closed and she relaxed. Their lips met. Shiro closed his eyes, his hand untangling from her hand to press into the small of her back. Katie's hands slid up Shiro's chest and over his shoulders. Shiro pulled her further up, and shuddered and she sighed into the kiss.

"Katie..." He breathed, his brows furrowed as they pulled apart. She hummed, leaning back down. Their mouths pressed together, more heated than previously. Shiro gripped the fabric of her jacket, holding her tightly against himself. Katie grabbed his face, tilting his head slightly to get herself a better angle.

"HOLY-!"

The two Paladins gasped and jolted apart. Katie leapt to her feet and Shiro fell back on the bed.

Lance stood in the doorway, hands flapping around as he tried covering his bright red face. "Oh quiznak, oh quiznak, oh quiznak!" Lance yelped as he stumbled back, completely flustered and practically broken. "I'm sor- Holy shit, I just- mother of- I-I'm gonna go!" The blue paladin squeaked and scampered away. The door slid shut once he was gone.

Katie gulped and shifted awkwardly, gaze everywhere but Shiro.

Shiro rubbed his face with both his hands. "Well..." He muttered, not really knowing what to say."

"I... You're good." Katie squeaked out, her cheeks flaring. Shiro sat up and raised a brow. She buried her face in her hands. "A-at kissing, I mean!"

The black paladin chuckled and stood. "Katie." He whispered, leaning down. She peaked up at him through her fingers. Shiro gently took her hands and led them away from her face. He moved closer and pressed a sweet, soft kiss to her lips. Katie smiled, meeting his gaze. "Just don't tell your dad."

Katie sputtered, then giggled. "He would kill us. Slowly and painfully." Shiro nodded and stood straight. "I finally get him back, Takashi... I finally get to see my dad again..."
