*Dannys POV*
I slowly walk back into the small living room and turn on the light, squinting as I do so because the brightness blindingly bright... I stare down at the girl as I take in her appearance. Waist length auburn hair, matted and wet, falls down past her shoulders and slightly covers her face. I kneel down beside her and carefully brush a lock of hair which has fallen over her face.
My heart flips over as I study her facial features.
Her eyes, which are closed, are framed with long dark eyelashes. Her eyelids flutter as she sleeps and her eyebrows furrow into a frown. She can obviously sense that someone is is watching her. Her face is dotted with sun kissed freckles which contrast with her pale complexion. Her rosy red lips are plump and rosy, and I'm suddenly itching to place mine over hers and sooth out all the creases from her life. Stop it Dan just fucking stop it, I think to myself, you don't even know the girl.
I light the fire and let the warmth of it engulf the room. I suddenly hear a whimper and a shuffling sound coming from the sofa. I immediately swing my head round, to see that the girl is beginning to awaken. I rush to her side and quietly sooth her, whispering comforting things to her.
"Don't worry, you're going to be ok. Your safe with me. Don't worry just don't worry."
The girl tosses and turns. I begin to get a little worried. Was it really the best thing to take her off the streets? I'm not going to be able to care for her... Am I?
I rub my hand reassuringly up and down her arm. "Everything's going to be ok" I remind her, "everything's going to be okay."
Her eyes shoot open at the sound of my voice and I suddenly gasp.
Her eyes.
I can't even begin to describe them.
They are mottled green and blue and they are shining like a diamond in the rough. I think that they are the most beautiful eyes that I have ever seen. The way they shine in the firelight is unreal. The way they contrast with her vivid red curls. The way they are framed by swirls of dark eyelashes. I internally slap myself. Come on Dan. get a grip mate. Get back to reality.
A shadow flickers across her face and she looks afraid. Uncertain.
"Where am I?" She asks shakily trying to turn her head to view her surroundings.
"Who are you? And what am I doing here?" She is beginning to sound more confident with herself, less shaky, less afraid. A look of defiance crosses her face.
"I found you." I explain. "On the streets by my flat. You were soaked through and crying out for help. You needed help, so I guess I gave it too you."
She looks puzzled.
"What's up?" I ask gently.
"It's funny." She begins slowly. "I can't remember anything happening at all. All I remember is it raining and the everything turning to darkness."
"I think you passed out for a bit. The cold must have got to you."
She bits her lip, her eyes squinting together. I have to stop myself from kissing her there and then.
She is so beautiful.
